No! Little was 33 at the Mexico World Cup in 1986. don't think he was even in the squad - you may be thinking of Peter Beardsley (also a Tyneside lad)

Brian Little did only win one cap and that was a substitute appearence against, I think, Wales at Wembley and it lasted about 10 minutes.

The cross for Lineker in the 1986 World Cup may have been by Steve Hodge.

Yeah i too am pretty sure his one and only cap came against wales. when you think of some of the dross who have subsequently gained caps, you question why only one!

You're right. According to Wikipedia it was Steve Hodge who did the superb cross.

He's still a legend. A well mannered gent too, and he got us second in the Prem as mgr. If only footballers and mgrs could be in his mould.
