No, he really doesn't. He's never won anything.
Here here! He will recieve a warm welcome just as most exreds do when they return. He was the wrong man for the job but that wasn't his fault.

No he does not. Silly comment.
Anyway - I didn't like him. Think he handled himself very poorly at times and looked bitter. Never his fault, terrible press conferences and arrogant to boot.
"What do you mean do my methods translate? They have translated from Halmstad to Malmo to Orebo to Neuchatel Xamax to the Swiss national team. So I find the question insulting. To suggest that, because I have moved from one club to another, that the methods which have stood me in good stead for 35 years and made me one of the most respected coaches in Europe don’t suddenly work, is very hard to believe."
Not won feck all since! So no, it does not work Roy.
Hanging out of MrAF after he accused Torres of diving bumhole did not endear me to him either. Or his slating of youth players after the Northampton loss. Or saying on Paul Konshitsky;
" "He's a good player and he's the right man for the job. There aren't many quality left-backs around in the world, never mind in England - so to find an English one who can go straight into the team without any adjustment problems is a big advantage. He is a player I know, a player I have worked with and he knows the way we try to play and the things we try to do. That's another little advantage, but the main reason for bringing him here is because we think he's a good player and he's the right man for the job."
No playing mid table Championship football.
Spent £25m to flirt with relegation.
Hodgson never fitted into Liverpool. I don't know why he was given the job it was always going to end the way it did and he could have been saved that humiliation. But I certainly don't dislike him and never did. I would like him to get a warm welcome. He didn't do much for us - the ship he was supposed to steady was going down but he never left the sinking ship, he waited to be thrown off. Credit for that.
But is it his fault he wasn't good enough? it's not as if he wanted us to do badly. No reason to dislike him.
He should get a good reception, he never left on bad terms, didn't say anything bad about the club and he tried his best for us.

He was out of his depth, simple as that.
TOOR - he said a lot about the fans, Mascherano, Rafa, Johnson - he was never comfortable in the position and did hit out when cornered.

-------------------------------------
I meant when he was sacked. I included his comments to the press, as reasons he wasn't good enough for us.
At the end of the day he was walking into a job that I am sure he and everyone else knew was very short term (unless he did well and that was never going to happen).
I did not dislike him before he joined the club but it became very obvious form early on that he was not the man for the job, either tallent wise or personality wise. He was constantly kissing Fergies behind and even saying that we would sell them Torres. He alienated Agger who is one of the best central defenders in Europe and Johnson, who I don't care what people say is a great RB and is still currently Englands best. He constantly slagged off the squad and us fans. He had no plan B and plan A was very iffy at best.
He is now doing the same job at West Brom as he did at Fulham, nothing special as that is his level.
I wouldn't be surprised if he beat us though as that seems to be the story of our season.
He alienated so many players it's unreal. We're lucky Agger is still at the club!
29 December: "We are not deliberately losing games.I have to hope the fans will become supporters because we need support. "
29 December: (After being asked if the booing at the end of the Wolves game was understandable)
"The fans have left angry and that's understandable. We've let them down. I am getting used to it, that is the way it is. We've had to live with that for quite a long time now as ever since I came here the famous Anfield support has not really been there."
31 December: "I didn't mention the fans… I think the fans will always get behind and support the team. They even did it the other night. "
He ended up going mental.
No offence Hoody but this comment could be levelled at someone else...
'Anyway - I didn't like him. Think he handled himself very poorly at times and looked bitter. Never his fault, terrible press conferences and arrogant to boot.'

Galvin has a pretty good point.
The problem with Roy (and one of the main reasons we don't like him) is that not only did he try to instil a mid table mentality on the team, he also cosied up to the archnemesis of LFC.
SAF.
Most of us were quite willing to give the man a chance
-------------
In my honest opinion, I don't agree with that.
The way Hodgson was treated was... un-Liverpool like
and I made that clear on the old 606
Was he good enough? That's not exactly a fair question considering he had months and buttons to spend.
He certainly didn't deserve to be mocked - which he was e.g.
"Hodgson for England" chants on the Kop
One of the lowest points as a Liverpool fan that !
Metro- (U6770)
Oh come on Metro!
He took on a squad that had the most amount of players from a PL team at the World Club.
He spent £25m.
We got knocked out by Northampton, He slagged of the fans, he slagged of Johnson, he did not defend Torres and he had up 6 points above relegation.
Couple that with literally the worst football I have ever seen at LFC.
Don't even get me started on loaning out Aqua to Juve and then buying Poulson off them for £6m!!
Time may heal but it should not forget.

As you can see on this article, some people obviously do dislike him and that led to them not wanting to give him a chance and chants to replace him.
However many were willing to give him a chance but he blew his change in pretty major fashion with his comments to the press and his style on the pitch. Sometimes when something isn't working out, time isn't going to fix it, especially if the something is Roy Hodgson who has never won anything of note of managed a top team and upon first trying failed miserably.
He didn't and doesn't deserve to be mocked. He wanted the best for us and he tried his best, he just wasn't good enough.
Maybe he'll get the 'Hodgson for England' chants - and I hope that's as bad as it gets.

He'll get a good reception.
That was as good as we have played all season, and I have no qualms with the performance whatsoever. I only hope fair-minded people will see it the same way.
This horrified me as it was after a horrible performance against the bitters, where the team on the day were utter abject.
In answer to a journalist from Norway questioning the supply to Torres: '
Are you from Denmark?' Hodgson asked (he considers the Danish press too negative). 'No, Norway,' replied the visitor. 'Ah, two countries I never want to work in again,' he said.
About Fergie:
“I know Mr Ferguson is not really a Liverpool man,” said Hodgson, “so I’m a bit concerned about my excellent relationship with him. “I sincerely hope he forgives me for moving north and hopefully we can have a glass of wine together, maybe in secret."
Hodgson in a lot of respects was hung from his own petard. I hope he gets a reasonable good reception on Sunday, perhaps a gentle ripple of applause would suffice, because the truth of he was utterly out of his depth.
I gave RH all the support he needed until he was gone. Lets face it though, others have said he was short term, IMHO I believe it went deeper than that, Hodgson was there for a fire sale of some sorts, not entirely sure when torres seeds of doubt were sown but probably on his watch!
His problem was the fans still expected to be pushing for CL even though the club has fallen so far behind.
