Interesting, as that type of stuff is not really heard of in our school. Whatever set you're in you do maths GCSE in Year 11 and some in 10, and the A-Levels is normally in Sixth-Form. The closest thing to that that has happened is there was someone who actually couldn't learn French. I'm sure he was a bright guy (this was before I came to my school) but apparently no matter how hard he tried he couldn't learn it. So he asked the school if he couldn't do it
TCP - Not something you want to be sniffing these days .
To be honest i don't think we'll get Hiddink. Well i'll rephrase that, if we don't get Hiddink by the end of next week, then i don't think he'll be coming as manager.
I think he might very well come in September as Director. Have a feeling we might take Hughes on as manager. Was reading somewhere that the new manager will only get a 12 month contract, with the option to extend another year. So on that alone, if we can't get Hiddink now, it could be Hughes for a season.
Granted it was a few years ago I done that... Off to Aus to finish uni off next year. So schools may have a different take on things now. But I do feel the style, standard and system of education you receive fluctuates massively, more than you'd expect, from school to school.
Gutted if we don't get Hiddink. But it does seem like it could be possible. Not sure about Hughes, but I certainly don't want Harold Redknapp.
Does seem strange that Sparky left Fulham.
Might just be paranoia on smelling TCP that affected my cells
Iv'e never really been one for this "big managers" to lead big clubs. If you went by that example it would just like saying you can ONLY have big name players at the club.
If we do end up with Hughes and then eventually Hiddink as Director i'd be happy with that. I think Hiddink might also take on a coaching role as well, and be a bit more hands on, but not to the point where he is overstepping Hughes as manager.
It could be a win-win scenario.
If we get Hughes he could be a HUGE success, and with Hiddink in as Director eventually, then it could be a dream pairing in terms of management and stability at the club.
And if it is Hughes and he dosen't meet the targets, he's only on a 12 month contract so we pay virtually nothing in terms of severance pay. And Hiddink would probably be appointed caretaker manager in the mean time if Hughes went before the 12 months.
So in my opinion, getting Hughes as manager, wouldn't be all that bad.
But Hughes is free.
Why not get the deal done asap?

Gazza - Everyone has to start somewhere. Even as big as a manager as Carlo is, everyone had doubts if he could outclass Ferguson etc, and then when it came to it, Mourinho. He did in his first season against Ferguson and didn't against Mourinho.
Even Hughes's City side beat Chelsea with Ancelotti there.
So the potential is certainly there.

Gazza - The same could happen to Hiddink though. We base how well he could do based roughly on how he did at Chelsea.
Now i'm not saying that that is the case, and i don't think it would be, but it could.
If it was a case of Hughes as manager and Hiddink as director then i think that would work better than just one or the other.
Even in hindsite, if we get Hiddink, i think he would only be there 2-3 seasons max. Then we would be back at square 1.

It could explain why a move hasn't been made yet. Hughes can't join a club until the end of June without Fulham's permission. So perhaps it is in the pipeline.
Either way, if we don't sign Hiddink by the end of next week then it'll either drag on or we'll sign someone else, probably Hughes.
I'm confident It will be Hiddink as manager,Chelsea just need to agree compensation with Turkey.
My idea scenario would be Hiddink to manage, obviously it will only be 2 or 3 seasons. But I would love to see someone come in as his assistant who could be groomed into the role in 3 years time. Like a Zola, however unlikely that is, or maybe we could even do that with Hughes. Although I can't see him taking an assistant role.
Another point on Hughes. No matter what club he has been at, he has lost nearly as many games as he has won. City included. Not good enough for Chelsea. That would have to seriously improve.
Wales- Won 12, lost 14
Blackburn- Won 82, lost 60
City- Won 36, lost 26
Fulham- Won 14, lost 13
Well hopefully Saturday turns out to be a good day, or monday. If the rumours are true about the meeting with Lukaku's agent in Monaco, then the deal could be completed by Monday.
Hopefully! I'll still remain hopeful we'll get Guus until it doesn't happen.
As long as it's not Harry or Benitez.

That's what iv'e been told mate, that both Lukaku's and De Bruyne agents will be there, but apparantly the club are still decideing if De Bruyne should go back on loan to Genk or Anderlecht.
He would be in the CL if he went on loan to Genk...
But hopefully we get both.
I was thinking about that earlier, and unless him going to Anderlecht for a year is a condition of the Lukaku deal it seems to make complete sense sending him back to his current club where he wouldn't have to settle back in. And as you say, gets the bonus of a CL group stage.
