Ngl last 48 hours I’ve never seen such high frequency of balanced and insightful posts from Oscar, reckon he’s having some weed induced clarity while he’s on lockdown in his basement

1140 cases now
21 deaths from 11

So increase in cases of 342 since yesterday however ala yesterday (2,400 more tests and 200 more cases) today there was over 4,000 tests and 342 cases so the rate is still pretty much the same just more tested so there will be more cases)

posted on 14/3/20

Sorry there was actually 5,000 tests in the last 24 hours not 4,000. 342 new cases from 5,000 tests

Yesterday 200 new cases from just under 3,000 so pretty similar increase % to tests

Millions have probably had this thing and never even realised. May as well just shelter the vulnerable + elderly then carry on as normal. The delay is pointless

get rid of cmf on the haven...
Few weeks later corona virus outbreak...coincidence? Maybe he was a virus on the haven and now he’s spread elsewhere

IMO everyone over 55 self isolate for a couple of months regardless whether they are ill. Younger healthier people carry on as normal(arguably go out their way to spread the virus to other young people to increase immunity %). Then in a couple of months a large % of the population will have had it creating herd immunity

Why go through all the economic and social pain just to delay the inevitable (majority of people getting some form of the virus)?

It's easier to say on paper and some people will still die in that scenario - but people will die in any scenario so may as well just get on with it. I think that strategy saves more lives in the long run (+ prevents economic hardship)

Agree. The longer this goes on the more poverty and in turn deaths will occur

Just called sky sports to cancel my subscription. They offered me the next month for free and to then review again. Hinted that may give sky sports for free until back to normal. Over 40 minutes in a phone 1 for that though

Didn’t even think about that

It’s true that Sky Sports is a bit pointless to have for at least the next month. Probably BT as well.

One thing I like about streaming services is how easy it is to cancel and resume. I could decide to have Netflix for a couple months, then once I’ve caught the shows I want, can put it on pause until I decide there’s something else on there worth seeing.

It’s also the reason why I roll my eyes whenever reading about how there are too many streaming services and it’s too expensive to sign up for all of them. That’s not the point. Get Disney plus for a bit to watch what you like, then quit once you want to move on to other shows.

It’s the type of media to consume on demand and it doesn’t matter if the show is currently being aired or not.

Completely different to music, whereby you want to pay for just one streaming option that covers everything.

HBO is $15 a month on it's own. Feck that.

Prime is generally all I need as I can rent or buy things I ACTUALLY want to watch. Netflix is losing a lot of value to me. Not into most they produce lately.
