You mean if they don't reach their potential which is the whole point for getting these players. Getting a player young and hoping.
The signs are good
They all contributed well to a team that managed 3rd

4th...but your point is valid
Well actually for Hudson Odoi that is still true
I think for James, Mount, Tammy and Pulisic specifically they have already achieved the first step of being reliable PL starting players in a top table side
I have hope in RJ, Mount, Tomori and Pulisic becoming really good players and potentially world class in terms of Pulisic.
Less certain about Tammy as there's a lot to his game that needs work. Not sure about Cho either.
Kovacic is already class, probably can improve his ball in the final 3rd. Werner I think may struggle vs certain opposition but I'm sure he'll get us plenty of goals given we have creativity around him
Ancelotti is probably the best example of a manager that really adapts his style and formation to the team he's managing.
---------------------------------------------------
Think he gravitates too readily towards two up front systems, I'm sure guys like Eriksson & Sacchi's influence playing a part there.
Not that either were necessarily bad calls, one of them won the league, but the fact it took him 3/4 of 09-10 to abandon the diamond favoring 433, but only a few months of poor results to retreat to 442 reveals where his comfort zone is.
His Napoli tenure quite revealing aswell. Losing Jorginho is obviously massive to a possession based 433 team, but his solution was 442? Seemed weird to me given how much Napoli's players & fans took to the 433.
Werner has already proved himself tbh if you look at his output
Just needs to make the transition to the PL but that seems to be less of a jump than it used to be
I honestly think that some people have not quite realised how good a season Mount has had for Chelsea.
I include myself in that too, in that we have been focused on what he needs to improve on more than what he has achieved in his first full season in the PL.
His free kick vs Wolves was a bit of a watershed moment for me
His mentality is clearly there in spades
A genuine game winning contribution delivered in a high pressure situation

That was beautiful
Been saying all year his technical skill is where the improve needs to be centralized cos everything else is there. Seeing that put a massive smile on my face

In that team he would be the only PL player that would equate energy output to his weekly salary
