Screwed by var AGAIN
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Were we actually screwed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TBF those do get given when a goal comes immediately after. So that specific incident I can see why VAR gives the foul, as there is clear contact from Bads.
But it is frustrating after the ignored handball in the semi and other VAR irregularities.

So what’s everyone’s thoughts about Poch now? Were we impressed by his second half tactics? That’s the first time in a while I remember us being so dominant in the second half. We are truly an inconsistent team, but are we moving in the right direction?
Personally I think we need a goalkeeper, at least one central defender, a left back, a left winger, and a striker. And we need to sell a lot of players. But do we really need to get rid of Poch? He’s obviously imperfect, but maybe he deserves another chance next season?

Gabri Veiga ready for a return to Europe as life in the Saudi Pro League is not as expected. Gabri is one of a number of players hoping for a return to Europe this summer, and it is believed Chelsea were the closest to signing him before his move to Al-Ahli
The Blues are reportedly preparing an initial offer of €40 million to sign the player and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done. The 21-year-old is capable of operating as a central as well as an attacking midfielder. He could prove to be the ideal acquisition for Chelsea
So far he has 4 goals and 4 assists this season.

Tottenham are continuing to haggle over Conor Gallagher's asking price. Chelsea are adamant that the midfielder will not leave for less than his £50 million valuation, a price that Tottenham are not prepared to pay and may wait for his contract to wear down.

Fack me Mudryk was utter poverty last night...seriously poor...& yet he plays 89 minutes...WTF is wrong with Poch, he could have given Casadei 30 minutes in there...
He's still learnt nothing has he...how is he going to know how Casadei is if he just leaves him on the bench and perseveres with someone who can't trap a bag of cement or look up for a pass
Fackin grinds my gears...

I listed Mudryk in my "biggest disappointment of the season category" and really don't think I am going to see anything in the remaining games to change that view. I really hope I have to eat my words but time is running out.
First touch of a trampoline being his first contribution last evening. I then proceeded to lose count of the number of basic errors that you will not see from a £60 player let alone a 60m player.
The one in the second half when the cross field pass went completely under his foot as he attempted to bring it down had me screaming for a change.
Don't go with the "he doesn't get a run of games" protests - these are basic football skills, stuff that the under 11's are comfortable with.
Whether you are playing regularly or not these are basics that should be part of your game at this level whatever but time and time again he is found floundering.
Without the basics the rest of your game is likely to be pretty much f**ked at this level.
There are occasional flashes of promise, granted he had a little run of games (mainly when playing centrally rather than out wide) when he looked better but then he regresses and reverts to type.
No idea what the answer is with him. Needs to really up his game to fulfil the promise that is maybe locked away somewhere though.

The answer is sell or give him Championship loan. He is not a PL standard player and the chances that he will become one are at best very slim.

Really thought we were going to be on the end of another 5-0 given the way Villa started, however once we settled a little and began to play ourselves into the game was pleased with our response.
Thought Jackson was unlucky with the offside, header hits the post , fine margins.
Moises I think plays better when he has Gallagher alongside him, more mobile and positionally aware than with Enzo . Just my opinion .
One of the few times I can remember a decent second half performance when it mattered. Unfortunately the 6 points we lost after dreadfully mis-managed second halfs against Brentford, Burnley and Sheff Utd probably mean we miss out on any European Football which is a shame given the position we got to at that point.
All those games points thrown away despite being in highly advantageous positions during.

Realise i'm probably in "One day Rodney we'll be millionaires" territory here but would really like to see Lavia in that DM position to see how he works with Moises.
Think we have suffered from not having a proven DM, not saying that Lavia will be the solution but would like to at least get the chance to see what he can bring.

Poch deserves some credit for moving Cucurella into midfield in the second half, it stopped a lot of their transitions.
