Delap is a good signing
He's got a bit of everything
Add that to another season of experience for a still only 23 Jackson then I'm happy with those 2
Too much emphasis on oshimen who is clearly a mercenary who we are never going to sign as Gyokeres who Brighton let go of. They are flavours of the month and if arsenal are seriously going for sesko over Gyokeres it should tell you the story
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Appreciate the positivity
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally I wouldn't put too much emphasis on what Arsenal do. Pretty much all the London clubs won a trophy this season except them lol. And they haven't won a trophy in many years. They're not a yardstick for what players to sign or how to operate. Not for me anyway.
And had they signed Gyokeres last summer like it looked they were going to then I suspect they may well have won the title this season instead of finishing as far off as they did in the end.
So them choosing Sesko over Gyokeres (if that is indeed what happens) really doesn't mean much to me at all. Arteta chose Havertz as his CF and they've won nothing from that decision.

Chelsea will ask Liam Delap to put the Club World Cup ahead of England U21 duty at the Euros. While Delap is desperate to play for England, #Chelsea sources are expecting the club to request for him to be released for the CWC.

That’s a bit harsh. Playing for England, even if it’s the U21s) is a big deal for players. And presumably the squad has been planning on him.

Ipswich Town chairman Mark Ashton on Delap’s release clause:
🗣 "Let's be really clear, when you are signing players from a Premier League football club as a newly-promoted Premier League football club, young or old, they're very nervous about being stuck in a Championship club. Because the stats show that newly promoted clubs often go straight back down. So the contracts are always heavily negotiated.
The reality is that when there’s a high profile player who is wanted by several clubs you get presented with a term sheet – ‘those are the terms for the club’ and ‘those are the terms for the player’.
You're told, 'If you want to talk to the player and give your pitch to sign him you have to agree to those terms because if you don't then there are six other clubs who will agree'. We speak to other clubs, we know the market, so we know that that's not lies."

🗣 Graeme Souness backs Liam Delap to be successful at Chelsea:
🗣 “Liam Delap will be a good acquisition. He has scored goals in an Ipswich Town side that has been scrapping throughout the season, and I believe he can make that jump to play at the top level with a big club, but he does have to become more clinical in his finishing."

A late post but we are indisputably massive.
It is a good season on paper. Dunno if this controversial or not but in my opinion we had a lot of luck for this run last 10 games of the season. I feel like the form of the team was over that of our actual performances. Lots of wins by a one goal margin which could have gone either way. But there was definitely some character and ‘grit’ behind this.
The Conference League I really don’t care to pay too much attention too. The only game of any quality was the final. It’s a competition that I really think shouldn’t even exist. It is probably cynical and negative of me but I don’t know, just don’t see the point. But I’m happy for the trophy stats and the players.
Delay I’m a fan of . Him and Jackson between them both have a nice skillset and potential. His impact on a shiiiiite team at a young age is quite rare and impressive. My only worry is both still need probably 30-40 + games a season the next 2-3 seasons to progress you’d think? So will both of them get the development they need? We shall see

I’m not saying that they’re going to go on to win the Champions League and Premier League next season, but it’s a significant step."
