Kepa to Arsenal looks done. Guy could be playing regularly for a mid table club but has decided to become a backup player.

I'd rather have brought Kepa back here as number 1 instead of Sanchez. I thought we'd upgrade after finally moving Kepa out on loan but we somehow got even worse with Sanchez lol

The problem with Kepa was that he was on huge wages. If it’s a toss-up between Kepa and Sanchez (and I’m not saying it is - but just for the sake of argument), then Kepa is going to lose every time. For the wages he was on he had to be one of the best keepers in the world in order for us to want him to stay.

It’s the same for Sterling, and the same for Chilwell. They are on enormous wages, so we can’t afford to have them as backup players. Of the high-wage players this administration inherited, only Reece James has been kept on.

Does this count as this season or next? I was always under impression it is seen as an extension of this season.

For me I think its end of last season still.........

Next season starts in Aug

He did look good. Strong on the ball, made good runs, looked confident. The goal itself was excellent movement and great skill to beat the defender - but although he confidently side-footed the ball into the net to send the keeper the wrong way, it looked like it was in slow motion didn’t it. Surely a PL keeper would have saved that?

Anyway, Delap has made a confident start.

Think it will go under last season stats wise

First competitive goal for us still an important milestone

Delaps finish was a finishers finish

No touch needed shoot early dont let yhe keeper set
Was a good finish rather than poor goalkeeping

The masseuse walked on my back in my massage today.

Sorry just thought I'd outline this was alarming at the time.

Definitely an extension of last season. Hence, Modric is still playing for Real Madrid even though he’s joining AC Milan for next season. And Estevao is playing for Palmeiras etc.

Also liked him coming a little deeper too, Nicky doesn't really come back at all. Although again the overall movement of our attack is pretty bad. We leave players to get isolated, rather than give them a ball out. We looked the best when we were passing the ball quickly and with some urgency, and we had some nice little interplays especially in the 2nd half

Little twig goalie wasn't great, only decent save was Guiu. Feel he should have done better in all our goals

It’s interesting that we’re prepared to look at older players for the goalkeeping position. Ter Steven is 33, so he really only has a couple of years at the top level you’d think - even as a goalkeeper. Does it suggest that we have confidence in Penders coming good in a couple of years?

Yeah we dont want Penders going somewhere else too long and losing him like we lost Courtois who had built himself a life in madrid and hated london or whatever i dunno i dont speak or understand snakes

Fk knows about the 1955 title but we've never won a PL title without an elite goalkeeper

I think Barca will be happy to sell. Get him off the wage bill. They’ve also just signed another GK. Not sure Ter Stegen would want to leave though.
