Mikel often played 10 internationally and always looked good.

Yes I know, that was my point. He saw himself as a 10 and played well there for Nigeria. And yet how many times did he play that role for Chelsea despite playing hundreds of times for us ? Zero lol.

So Estevao can say what he likes but I seriously doubt he's going to play anywhere except that RW for a while to come at least.

Again dont disagree - but see my second point which its easier for us to cover 10 than CF......how do I know this? Just look at our last 4-5 seasons

We had a CF on the pitch and once again was shoving a very square peg into a very round hole

I'm not disagreeng either but if you consider Estevao isn't going to play the 10 role under Maresca anytime soo imo then the other options were Enzo moved up from CM into 10 or Neto as the 10. Not sure either are great options there.

Both better than George as a CF which is my point. And like I said we could have also solidified cover with the likes of Santos coming on. And pushing Enzo higher, where he has played quite a bit for us

In fairness that's probably what I would have done if I was head coach in that situation but regardless it shows a distinct lack of viable alternatives in the 10 role. We could have bought Xavi Simons to completely negate this issue of course but decided against it.

Yup, such a shame as the window started so well and for a while it actually looked like we knew what we were were doing lol.

Dont get me wrong I am intrigued if it was us dithering......completely believable or these dumb UEFA guidelines we need to follow that make little to no sense. However the lack of a FOS sponsor unfortunately makes me think the biggest problem is us
