Chelsea will be ‘trying again’ to sign Juventus 20-year-old Kenan Yildiz in January, after submitting a €80m bid this summer. Enzo Maresca is a big admirer of the player and could be leading the Club World Cup winners’ pursuit. (calciomercato via SportWitness)

To be fair, I do deem Pep's 12 year gap of winning the CL to be a blotch on his record, including the banter loss to Spurs.
Mourinho not winning the CL with us is a legitimate criticism of his record.

I'm casting my mind back to the late noughties when Liverpool fans tried to assure us Benitez was better than Mourinho, if anyone can remember that?
Now around 20 years later Benitez is completely finished, and Jose's become what Benitez was (i.e. alright cup manager, bog standard league manager) and pretty much everyone's in agreement he's washed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was absurd thinking at the time
However Rafa was always better tactically than Jose’s current ineptitude, its sad to see for me. Retire ffs and take your rightful spot in PL punditry
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah all accounts of Benitez from players he's worked with & journalists who know him personally all paint the same picture - tactically elite, but man management leaves a lot to be desired! If tactics were everything coaches like Emery would be in Pep's position, people like Klopp would be mid, and Harry Redknapp would've never coached in the Premier League.
That's why Jose has always been better. He's a FAR better leader than Benitez ever was.

Benitez did beat Jose in two CL semis when we were at our peak, and did a brilliant job at Valencia tbf. I think his peak is much higher than where Mourinho now is tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Benitez's Valencia team were very good. I can only remember snippets of them but my memories are all very positive about them.
They were an entertaining team too, played really nice looking football. I think Benitez fall into the same mindset Tuchel did when he came to England, thinking he needed to be more tactical to thrive, and as a consequence (like Tuchel) he never really washed out that "boring" repuation afterwards.

Sources say Jackson was messaging friends on the eve of the two sides’ league-phase opener game at the Allianz Arena, making it clear just how motivated he is to perform well.

Enzo Maresca's Chelsea can expect an INTENSE press from Bayern. With 50 Cent blasting in the background, they started training with a passing exercise between two teams. One of them had to pass from the back, the other had to press as if their lives depended on it. The losing team had to do 10 press-ups each when the whistle was blown. (@kierangill_DM) #CFC
