And it was a brilliant plan by Fergie once again
----------------------------------------------------------------
I don´t buy that at all.
All I´ve heard since Scholes came out of retirement was how brillliant it was and what a masterstroke by Fergie etc.
I don´t buy that propoganda and you only have to look at the facts.
Bringing a retired 37 year old out of retirement was a sign of desperation because I heavily suspect that Utd didn´t have the money to buy a proper replacement.
If it was such a masterstroke by Utd to bring back Scholes then why did Utd end up trophyless this season along with being taught a footballing lesson in both the Champions League and Europa League ?
No masterstroke there as far as I can see.
Hippo - You're making it worse.
You just said this is about not being able to attract top class talent, and you say from abroad (the OP said worried about the calibre of player he didnt mention nationality), but you nonsensically use young Ronaldo as your prime example of the type of signing 'we can't make anymore' (you seriously think we can't make top class signings ) when at the same time you are dismissing De Gea.
De Gea was far more well known than Ronaldo at the time of purchase. Are you also saying that Madrid, Barca etc were trying to buy him as the next world class player, but he refused to go there and came to us? OR are you saying De Gea doesn't count because he's not an exciting out field player for you to show off about?
You also dismiss players like Jones as not counting, because they are top english talent and not players from abroad, but as long as we are getting top talent then who cares, even if they are relatively unknown from Mexico. Also if SAF is rightly focusing on having a core of young British talent in his British side (that's one of the reasons we've been successful over the years) then he's going to be trying to buy less 'foreign' talent. Are you saying Ozil would be dismissed by Bayern fans as no evidence of attracting top young talent if he chose Bayern over Madrid?
You also ignore the fact that it's not usual for SAF to regularly buy foreign stars. I asked where you are from, because you strike me as not knowing much about the heritage of the club and the type of buys the club has traditionally made, or indeed SAFs philosophy. You also don't strike me as much of a 'supporter' and seem more interested in star names, so your fellow Germans dont wind you up about the players in the team they've either not heard of yet or that are at the end of their career like Scholes. I'm sure you a 'fan' of the club, even if an unhappy one, but there's a difference before someone who supports the club and is a fan.
I'm afraid you strike me as someone always asking what Manchester United can do for me, rather than what I can do to get behind the club and support it.
So you think that Carrick is "miles better" than Modric ?
Listen to yourself mate. Carrick couldn´t even get into the standby list for the England squad.
------------------------------
Carrick is better than Modric, that is a fact. The fact he couldn't get into the England team is why we will continue to fail. Downing has no goals or assists but is in the England team so that is a silly position to take.
------------------------------------------------------------
Also Scholes has played pretty much every Premiership game this season even when all other midfielders have been fit.37 year old Scholes is your first choice central midfielder alongside Carrick. Fact.
------------------------------
He retired and came out of retirement to help in january so we played the first half of the season without him and did very well humping you along the way. So he hasn't played in pretty much every game.
Scholes starts because Cleverly, Anderson and Fletcher have been injured. It's not rocket science.
We beat Spurs all the time and have finished above them as well, so it's quite clear we are miles better than they are.
They are better than Chelsea though, the league table doesn't lie. That's a fact
He retired and came out of retirement to help in january so we played the first half of the season without him and did very well humping you along the way. So he hasn't played in pretty much every game.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Just look at what you´ve written.
It´s utter drivel and factually incorrect.
Scholes wasn´t brought out of retirement just to play in January. He was brought out of retirement to play for the rest of the season as well as next season when he will be 38.
Scholes has not just played but started just about every Premiership game since he came back in January and that has happened even when the other midfielders have been fit.
Scholes is first choice for Man Utd. He is ahead of Cleverley, Anderson and Fletcher in the pecking order.
Why bother even trying to claim anything else ?
Scholes wasnt even 'brought out of retirement', he asked SAF if he could reconsider his retirement and join the team again. SAF said yes as he had wanted him to carry on another year. It was some begging mission by SAF for Scholes to save us.
It wasnt some begging mission I meant. oh god that slip doesnt help lol

Yeah ok mate, if it makes you happier believing that tripe then you carry on believing it
It's not tripe, it is a fact. He retired. He came out to he'll Utd and that 38 year old midfielder made your team look average.
It's amazing a Chelsea fan is talking about players ages.
This poor team reliant on this old man is miles better than yours. I would think about that prior to posting tripe
It is tripe because Fergie persuaded Scholes to come out of retirement knowing that he didn´t have the funds to buy anyone better.
Scholes retired for a reason and he was convinced to come back by Fergie.
Anyone claiming that it was all down to Scholes begging Fergie to come back is talking bull.
In short Scholes was brought back because Utd are skint.
Utd just spent over 50m in the summer but are skint.
What an idiotic statement. We are not Chelsea, we do not just buy players with someone elses money, we spend our money wisely because it is earnt.
It's amazing that after spending 100s of millions you finished behind a Newcastle.
Joke of a club, no manager, no money, no class, no history
It is tripe because Fergie persuaded Scholes to come out of retirement knowing that he didn´t have the funds to buy anyone better.
Have you got evidence for this?
Scholes is a class player but he is not as good nowadays as the commentators make him out to be.

Scholes has come out and said what happened if you think the opposite is 100% fact without any evidence, you certainly wont provide any, then fine, but you aren't persuading anyone, so ultimately what's the point? Oh yep, to wind up, I get it now.
Pea, wums always say, hey I'm not trying to wum. That's what the rent boy has been trying to do but has failed woefully.

Gutted. But not just because of Hazard.
