We need to adopt a Chelsea CL mentality to stand a chance, and use Walcott. I like his chances vs Evra, especially if France, as expected, dominate possession and defend a high line.

Drogba > Walcott

I really don't expect that to happen, I think England will be the surprise of the tournament. Hard to beat, boring but grind out the results. They will cancel out teams like France and Holland IMO.

Drogba > Walcott

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of course Drogba's better than Walcott. But if Walcott is on form, and that is a very big if (Walcott is ridiculously inconsistent) he will be England's most dangerous player on Monday

Milner can do no wrong in Woys eyes id expect him to start on the right

Walcott and Welbeck needs to start.

i don't think we're get hammered, i think we need to keep it tight and not concede early

if we concede early i'm not sure RH has a plan B

Well that would be a joke, England need to take a risk if we're going to stand a chance of beating France, sure Milner is the safe option, but that won't get us out of the group. An off form Milner > off form Walcott, on form Milner < on form Walcott

So it looks like that op, but I hope you and majority of people are wrong. Hodgsons style of play is not pretty but might suite the current crop of players to the ground. As bloscar says Chelsea's champions league win gives a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Lets hope Mexes starts

i don't think downing will start, to play his method of footy you need pace.

i think he will pull a surprise and start with the OX in the middle with Gerrard and parker and have a front 3 of young, wellbeck, and walcott.
Loads of pace for the counter

I dont understand why Walcott isn't one of our most valuable players in this team due to its style. It is blatant that we are going to have 11 men behind the ball on monday and we are going to go on the counter. The key to a good counter attacking team is pace and a will to run, which are obviously Walcotts strengths. Look at Walcotts form for us this season he clearly excels in the games against good opposition who don't sit back. This is Walcotts game!

France have got so much confidence, I expect them to beat us quite comfortably in neutral territory. We were opened up a few times against Belgium and France are a lot better. If we concede early we'll just turn into a quivering wreck.

I hope our back 8 defend as a unit manage to keep it a close match.

Gerrard needs to get injured. He has zero discipline

Gerrard would be better playing behind the striker but Hodgson would rather play him as a holding midfield. Mind you it worked for Lampard in the CL.

Lampard is better at it

Gerrard is not a 90min man anymore. Poor choice as captain imo
