Could be true

25million is too low for that greedy levy guy but the sun have been right recently i.e first to say paul scholes returning

Didn't they turn down £40M last summer?

Why would they sell now for £25M?

26M 4 years wages. He deserves it. A terrible life is football

Perhaps just a hunch but no CL football might by why

Still not saying its true but they perhaps need to sell in order to buy and no CL football was massive loss for them and Modric

What's greed gotta do with it?

Levy is not gonna be back pocketing the money himself, maybe, just maybe he does not want to weaken his clubs squad. Radical idea I know.

That's an amazingly matter of a fact article which is unusual even by red top standards. However it's a classic case of the headline writer and the journalist taking a different line.

The article says united have made an offer of x without anything re acceptance, but the headline says he's joining.

However I do fully expect saf to try and get Modric. Comes down to what levy will demand or perhaps what if anything was agreed between player and club for him to get on with things quietly for one more season once it began e.g. If we don't make the cl we'll agree to negotiate with a club offering at least x. It seems even united asked for one more commited year out of ronaldo with an agreement to sell, albeit at 80m!

Good point, that.

I think Fergie will 100% go for Modric but I also think so will City and Chelsea.

It will come down to highest bidder which won't be Utd and certainly not 25 million.

Maybe it was agreed last year that Modric could leave this season if they didnt make Champion League.

With Chelsea appearing to have lost interest in him Spurs will have to accept a lower fee, and £25-30m for a 26 year old is hardly bad business is it.

Why would Spurs sell Modric for less than what they sold Berba for

a). Spurs are better now than they werer back then. They're now genuine CL contenders

b). Market prices ahve risen a lot since then, think Torres, Carroll etc.

c). Modric is younger than Berba was, he has 4 years left on contract

£35mil minimum for him

Levy lets his star player get away for cheap...no way Jose...
...But it would be nice...yeah!!!

I honestly can't see Spurs letting Modric go for anything less than £30 million. We're in for a right battle to acquire his services.

I do think though that last season Modric was asked to give the club one more season, then if he still wishes to go the following season, they wouldn't stand in his way. That still doesn't mean they're going to let him go for less than they think he's worth.
