How many Protestants do you know who support the Republic? There only is one community down there.
-----------------------------
Utter utter crap. You have never been to Dublin or Cork if you think the only community there is Catholic. And now we will probably hear some made up story of how you used to live in Dublin etc

Secondly so everybody supports the republic but only Protestants support NI - bearing in mind i go to the matches with a Catholic
---------------------------------------------
Its funny how NI fans always have that imaginary catholic friend who goes to NI games. Does he join in with GSTQ and bring his personal UJ? does he join in with the no surrender chants? up to your knees in his blood etc?

Your right. Im so far behind I never realised that NI games are attended by hundreds of catholics who sing GSTQ and no surrender etc. The nationalist players who are rejecting NI to play for Ireland never really happened did it?

Yes we all stand with Union jacks and sing no surrender and songs about killing people.

Do yourself a favour and remember the conversation we had yesterday.

The republic team is only represented by one community. The republic is made up of 4.6% Protestants. Do you think the attendance at Republic matches would represent this ratio? Have you ever met a protestant at a match?

As for the up to your necks comment, this is why people on this forum think you are a moron. You make up total nonsense. And as for the Catholic friend, i block book with one other guy. He is catholic. He doesn't sing the anthem. Any further questions? Or just more bs?

There is no point of arguing with him GAWA , he has never been to Belfast , let alone Dublin or Cork . Hes stuck up in some backwards town that WONT accept people from the other side of the community.

He thinks we all stand there and sing the Sash , Billy Boys and GSTQ all night. He hasnt a bramble , hes as thick as champ and he makes a utter tool of himself everytime he writes something on here. It is entertaining though.

im quickly learning you can't argue with people like him who just don't know any better. Im starting to pity him in all honesty. Maybe we should bring him down to Belfast so he can watch the planes take off or watch the boats leave the dock, you know something that he has only seen on TV.

He might think he needs a passport to leave Co Tyrone ffs. He has the cheek to have a go about NI and bigots etc, when people like him , are part of the problem too!

If you've never met a Protestant at a rep game, how do you know they attend? And it was you who stated that the republic of Ireland team is for everyone. The tricolour is not my flag, nor is the soldier song my anthem and i do not consider myself Irish. How do they represent me?

posted on 15/6/12

Gawa, so NI fans dont shout no surrender during GSTQ? sky must have been editing it on then if it wasn't the fans.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
a minority do much like the minority of ROI fans that sing songs about the queen and the RA..

Do I? most certainly not.

So gawa, does spending sterling make you britishman? do you go around proudly spending sterling because it makes you feel more british

----------------------------------------------------------

It indicates i live in the UK as do you.

Ive never met a protestant at a game because I dont ask people there religion. You may do that at Windsor but we dont do that in Dublin. For all I know the fans could be jewish, Muslims etc I dont know because I dont ask them. But I do know Protestant ROI fans from Donegal. Not that it matters what religion they are.

I said the ROI team is open to all. Unlike NI. Look at Windsor park during an NI game and you will find it isnt open to those who arent loyalists.

It indicates i live in the UK as do you.

Your point? If I lived in China would that make me Chinese?

Anyway folks that enough of a skelping for now. Over and out.

And btw GAWA, loads of NI fans shout No surrender during the English anthem at NI games. Not a tiny minority.

Born, raised and lived in the UK, like yourself.

Minority you will find - much like the anti queen brigade in the ROI fanbase.

BS. The reasons you don't see Windsor as open to you could all be applied to the Aviva in reverse. Offensive chants, a flag and anthem that non nationalists do not identify with. Only difference is that we select Catholics. The Rep don't select Protestants.

Make that 4 on 1 Mango..............

I like a fair fight.

I know Catholics, nationalists, gaels and folk from Dublin who support NI and go to games at Windsor,to watch our team of all faiths and none.

Afew guys shout No Surrender, but not many and no loyalist or sectarian songs are sung at Windsor. In the 70's to 90's this was not the case, but we have moved on.

Personally,so have I,and I feel better for it.Getting older and softer.

Godfather, if you didn't mean in terms of religion, what did you mean by the rep team being open for all? Because by playing the republic anthem, tricolour flag, not to mention the pro terrorist chants, i don't see them as being very inclusive.

Don't you see that everything you criticise the Northern Ireland set up for, could also be levelled at the Republic team or are you two one eyed for that? Serious hypocrisy.

*too one eyed, not two one eyed. I don't know how you could be two one eyed

......................................................................

First of all Merrysteve the ROI have always selected Protestant players for as long as I can remember... the religion of a player is only an issue north of the border, example: Linfield who also happen to play at Windsor Park....

I understand your argument, but the pro RA chants on the youtube video that the Unionist mp was whining about last week, were from a bunch of northerners originating from Northern Ireland... not south of the border... Therefore they are your responsibility, maybe the IFA should do more to accomodate them and make them feel welcome at NI matches, as they are supposed to be NI citizens right??

A Tricolour is Irish, but a Union Jack is definitely not Northern Irish, neither is a Dutch shirt or an orange Holland hat which a lot of GAWA fans also seem to be very fond of.

I see godfather is having his airse handed to him again!

Godfather, now I personally don't sing no surrender during the anthem, for the simple reason that its not part of the lyrics. But what id like to know is what the no surrender actually means to you...
