"I guess you have never seen Parker play? He's a leader. He runs around, puts himself in faces of opponents. Busquets just walks. The lazy git."

Busquets is better than Parker in every single department. He's a better passer, tackler, he's got a better positional sense, he's better in the air, he works harder (don't underestimate how much hard work is needed to play a pressing game), he's younger etc.

Parker is slightly better than Salif Diao.

Busquets is easily the best DM in the world. Annoyingly good at it.

Jloo, since when have you been a liverpool fan you idiot?

Gerrard made his debut at 18, Wilshere made his at 16. Gerrard played 13 fixtures in his first proper season at the club, Wilshere played 53. In a way it shows we mismanaged Wilshere as 53 games for a 19 year old was too much and it led to his injury, but it also shows what a terrific player he is.

In his second season at Liverpool, Gerrard scored 1 goal in 30 appearances. He was 20 at this time. Wilshere was 18 last year and scored 2 goals last season, so more than Gerrard when the overrated scouser was 2 years older.

Gerrard got double figures when he was 21. Jack has just turned 20 and could have had more goals this season if he wasn't unlucky with his injury.

Parker isn't good enough for a top, top team. You need to be able to do more as a DM than just tackle, you need to be good on the ball to do something with it once you win it.

Parker might be good at running a lot and breaking up play, but he is woeful at using the ball.

Hart would, Ashley would, Cahill would if he were fit, Johnson would and Rooney would. Gerrard may get in ahead of Alonso.

You'd have Cahill over Terry?

I'm a big fan of his but that is ridiculous.

You dont have to make things up just cos ur trying to prove a point.

I said at Wilshire's age, which is what, 20, 21.
Gerrard was smacking in 30 yard screamers against united, and was a major influence in Liverpool winning the League Cup, FA Cup, and Uefa Cup, scoring in the final also. He also in the same season helped his team secure champions league football.
In comparison, Wilshere at a similar age has done nothing.

With the awareness and ability to read the game that Busquets has, he does not need to do a lot of running. He is a very clever player which makes him a world class midfielder.

Wilshire very well could become class but there doesn't seem to be the consensus there was for those players. I'll just take a wait and see approach.

everyone was raving about him last season, he was our player of the season and put down as a guaranteed starter for England. One year out injured has made people forget his talent but they will be reminded soon enough.

Bring back Bendtner (U5985)

Sorry mate but Jack has achieved, well, jack.

When he has been in the PL team of the season 7 times, picke up 12 trophies, got MoM in various finals and scored over 150 goals come back.

People just judge players based on their character rather than their actual ability. Players like Busquets, Terry, Suarez aren't rated highly because they're s.

Parker's positioning is so bad. It scares me.

I take your point but Cahill has come on leaps and bounds and is rapid.

The well past it Gerrard to get in ahead of Alonso who is on top of his game at the moment. Are you serious?

posted on 15/6/12

Ok I'll be serious now. In actual fact I don't rate Parker. Even Darren Fletcher is better IMO.

Busquets is best in his position.

To Wumpatrol:

You just dont get it!
Im not saying Giggs is better than Ronaldo but in the list of premiership great he'll be ahead of Ronaldo, thats not that hard to grasp??

I'll give you another analogy.
Jaap Stam & John Terry.

Arguablly you could say Jaap Stam is a beter defender than John Terry but in the list of premierships great John terry will be higher up the list than Stam

Bring Back Arshavin, if you are seriously suggesting Terry would get in the Spain team then I genuinely think you are clueless.

Terry just wouldn't suit their system, he's a thug who happens to be a decent defender, but he's not a ball playing CB and he has NO MOBILITY which is a necessity if you are going to be playing a high line.

Midfielders who close the ball down will help but even in Barca Terry would struggle he just doesn't have the pace to play in that role.

His partnership with Terry is great as they cover each others weaknesses.

I don't think Johnson is great but he is better than affordArbeloa in my opinion so would probably start. Cole would probably start left back as he remains top class. But Alba is also a class act. At centre back, I think you could make a strong case for a fit Rio, Terry and even Lescott. I think England excel in this area.

Have to agree about midfield. Scholes 5 years ago perhaps but not now. Wilshere in a couple of years time perhaps too but not now. Up front, Rooney would start but there's little else.

Forgot the keeper but I actually think Hart would give Casillas a dam good run for his money. He rarely has much to do at City but that makes the saves he makes all the more impressive in my view. It means his concentration levels are just as strong as his goalkeeping talent.

fair dos

I haven't said a single bad thing about Wilshire.

Just that I'd be a little cautious before saying one way or the other.

He's going to be a very good player that I'm confident about. But we've all been burned so many times by the next English saviour that a lot of people need a little more to go on.

Wumpatrol- Can Lennon do it on a cold Thursday night in Kiev?? (U5046)

Yes I'm serious. When you say Gerrard is past it what do you base that on?

On the fact that he ran more than any other player bar Milner, the fact that he made the most tackles, the fact he set up the goal, had the highest passing accuracy or the fact he got 9 goals and 6 assists in 25 games this season?
