Alonso was Liverpool's best player in that season they came 2nd. Gerrard doesn't have the vision or technical ability of Alonso.

You are just embarrassing yourself now mate. Terry is one of the best ball playing CBs out there. Check out his pass accuracy stats, it's up there with arteta, yaya toure, Britton etc etc in the Premier league. He always likes to keep the ball and pass it to midfielders rather than hoofing it up to Carroll/big striker.
Arbeloa isn't the fastest of players either, and he gets into the spanish team. Busquets isn't the fastest either and he played CB for Barcelona last season. Speed is important but a defender must have other attributes.

Terry is only good in a team that parks the bus, he's over the hill there's no way he'd get in the team. Look how ordinary he looked when AVB played the high line. He's a last ditch defender not a cultured CB. Spains defenders need to be mobile and good on the ball, two things that Terry is not.

Agger certainly is. No one outside Arsneal rate any of your defenders bar Sagna really. Verm is a better player. Kosch is very average and very Arsenal.

Koscielny is our best defender, you obviously don't watch Arsenal (or any other football team). Vermaelen isn't half the player Koscielny is.
