I'm always game for a match thread...Will be refreshing to have some new research to do instead of digging up info from previous threads...

Got a bit excited now

Jacko.
You know where i 'stand' on this issue

It's common sense, designated area's. cater for ALL.
inconvenience NO ONE.
100% respect for those who wish to remain seated, & they should no way be troubled by the likes of Me.
However.
I, & like minded should & could be catered for too.
It's not hard to work out.
And just like the ridiculous 40 quid asking price for a new shirt..(which I think is a Terrierific effort design wise. I like it)...one size does not indeed fit all.
Upper Panasonic & Law/Bat sections = seating .
Lower Panasonic & Kilner Bank = standing.
how easy is that ?

Wethers.
I'm happy to do a thread or two over the season.
(my preference is 'away' fixtures if possible )
& to you &.....
TEZ.
patience guys ! Normality, if you can call it that, will return once the start of the season gets nearer.
I'll be 'AWOL' through out July ! A Pleasure for some no doubt .

Who ever..
& Where ever.
Enjoy the summer guys.

As usual, I'd like to do the odd match thread. Any chance of a fixture list for who is doing which thread? Doesn't have to be for the full season, just several games in advance. That way, it is a reminder for the authors and should eliminate forgetfulness.

posted on 17/6/12

when the list comes out tomorrow I will put the feelers out to the first 6-8 fixtures, when its full I will publish who is doing what!

Once again Darn,,, Bang on regarding seating and seating where you are allowed to stand unhindered and not spoiling anybody elses view or enjoyment of the game,,,,,, Championship football, Big games, Better atmosphere, And yet i and a few buddys still have not renewed our tickets and i suppose for a few of us the issue of price is not the main factor,, Even though a few are struggling financially as indeed i am,,, The over riding factor is that we have no end to go in with the many other like minded fans,,, The meet up with mates in the battle cruiser before and after has become more exciting than actually being at the game,,,, Will i renew ? tbh i dont really know yet,, Now if we had an end where we could go and stand unreserved with non ticket holding mates,, Now that would be a deciding factor,, As it stands, We will have more income anyway, So Hoyley does not really need our money,, He cannot possibly do, Otherwise surely the club would be catering for potential fans such as ourselves ???

It can't be that difficult/expensive to convert the first or last rows of seats into a standing paddock can it ? The Brittania Stand could easily have the back ten rows or so of seats taken out and a barrier or two put in place, with some re-concreting of the floor to make a standing section .?

I notice at the Euros' there are blocks behind the goal, in between the seats which are standing zones.

The other easy conversion though would be the temporary seating behind the goals. We are never going to get the South stand now, so might as well forget that, but they could easily remove the tatty temporary seats and build a standing section there. It could have thre usual facilites underneath and the types of fans there aren't averse to a bit of a soaking if it rains, which it does.

Town have ruled that bit out for away fans because of the boxes just above, although I've been to grounds where away fans are housed underneath home boxes....but there you go.

I reckon a proper raised standing section with crash barriers and safety sections would be spot on there, 2,500 standing fans would make some noise, and I'd certainly have a go at that.

That temporary section, because of 'live events' is a waste of time now, the seats are fading and at some point the rusting scaffolding sections will have to come down anyway.

If Deano/ KSDL want to reward Town fans, that's what they should give us...like a 21st century cowshed..

It might even raise the stadium capacity, what's the seating capacity there at the moment ?

Darn, where are you off for your jollies mate...some sandy beach for a bit of shark bating ??? .

posted on 17/6/12

Here here Jacko, But alas no ears will be cocked by the movers and shakers,,, The temporary seating will need to be replaced soon,, But my guess is that the 1900 seats will not be replaced with a safe standing section, Nor do i believe the 1900 seats will be replaced by 1900 new seats,, I would bet a guess that if any building work ever took place at this end that it would be a smaller seating section with more executive boxes above with access somewhere into the existing corporate areas,, Therefore lowering the capacity but increasing corporate revenue by the doubling of boxes in this section,,, Whereas in an ideal world where Hoyle and Davy were pals, Surely Hoyle could make himself a hero by pushing for a continental style safe standing terrace (1st in UK for footy) and much appreciated by the Giants fans at their games too ! alas though it will never happen,,, Dream on.

Wet gear essential - but with luck might not be needed ?

scotland..

darn is definitely going somewhere in scotland..

the changes in the weather and stupid roads built to be impassable in even the mildest of winters gave it away..

HIMALAYAS???
easy peasy...

dont forget to take a flask and some sensible "walking" shoes...

a light "poncho" type garment may be required for the odd change in the weather...

Dont forget the higher you go up the harder it is to light your cigs so take a number of disposables with you...

watch out for sherpas, they are not as "faithfull" as they used to be ....

posted on 19/6/12

Sherpa's..........
And about as reliable as a 'Leyland' version...

Walking shoes ! You for real Buddy ?

500cc Royal Enfields Old Boy, Although I believe 'they've' dropped the 'royal' ...
No 'cigs' for me 38, But a Carl Pilkington style effort of 52 packets of Cheese & onion crisps in a rucksack might be required..
Kendal Mint cake ! now there's a thought.
