Hi Jonty, do you think these are the last two signings planned?

If so, many might share your concern.

I think there are a few more to be brought in but of course, I may be mistaken.

If we are taken over and there is money to be spent, I would love us to sign Beckford again.

Why Maidin, do you think he has given up being a pouty, sulky slacker or do you believe the manager can knock that out of him?

Yrah I agree. Varney I wouldn't mind as cover for the wings.

But Norris?

Strange thing to say but when we talk about whether Green is a good signing - It will be decided by the calibre of other players signed.

Yorkie, are you assuming Brown is staying or going?

posted on 23/6/12

green norris and brown will provide plenty of strength

you need to stop judging players on their age, if a palyer is good enough it doesnt matter how old they are

posted on 23/6/12

Not to sure about both of them but only time will tell, if its true (rumour) that we could be taken over at the end of the month (next week) I agree with maidinleeds lets get beckford back

Do people want promotion

Because obvious to me plenty don't

We need good players

posted on 23/6/12

and have you watched these players week in week out LIW, stop passing judgement on players you've not seen

posted on 23/6/12

There a reason why these players havent done a lot in their careers

I want automatic and when you support the biggest club by a mile in the division and pay the most in tickets prices, I think it's reasonable to expect at least a good go at it.

Signing 30 year old journeymen isn't going to get us promoted

Haven't you learnt anything from the past 3 years

We need young hungry players who will improve

Sadly we had these but either let them go for nothing or peanuts

I despair at how low people expections have got

posted on 23/6/12

but as i said it should be quality over age

These players aren't good enough and the point about mentioning their ages is that at their ages they are not going to suddenly get better.

Jonny, I think there's 2 more signings, maybe 3, but I genuinely feel we need more.

I'm not impressed with the calibre of players so far, especially when you realise that some of them weren't even our first choices!!!

Hope all is well in LA!

Warnock's signings for QPR:
Mackie- 24
Clarke- 25
Kenny- 32
Derry- 32
Hill-31
Orr- 27
Taarabt- 21
Hulse- 30
Smith- 30
Chimbonda- 31
Shittu- 30

Loans:
Routledge- 26
Miller- 23
Walker- 20

So if we cancel the Pearce signing out with Mackie, in terms of age, as long as we get our Taarabt and Orr and them type of players on loan then i'll be happy. Like Jonty mentioned though, it's not about a players age it's how good they are.

My point was... To go up, ideally Clayton will stay and we will sign two very good midfielders... Like Spearing and Danny Murphy. Or Koren and Butterworth. Then we would have Green from the bench.

But, unlikely to happen.

Butter field is the one I want

It's all about opinions and mine is that Norris and varney are not the calibre we should be looking at.

I will support any player who signs as they might play well.

I'm still waiting for a player to be linked to us that excites me.

I agree with everything you've said there

In 1989 Wilko paid £200'000 for a 32 yr old player The transfer fee soon paid dividends as this players form resulted in helping Leeds to winning the Second Division title in 1990 and gaining promotion to the First Division after an eight-year exile. The following season he helped Leeds finish fourth in the First Division and was voted Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year. A year later, he was a part of the team's strength in Leeds overtaking Manchester United to win the 1991–92 League Championship title in the last ever season of the old Football League before the creation of the FA Premier League. he continued to be an active first-team player as Leeds enjoyed mixed fortunes during their first three seasons of the Premier League.
With us for near enough 6 yrs making him 38 when he left. Is it Age..........or is it Experience ???

Strachan had well over 50 caps, played at world cups, won European cup winners cups and played at the highest level all is career, was a freak when it came to fitness and only left s c u m because of a bust up with fergie and was hungry to prove him wrong

That's the difference

how can any of you guys be so convinced about a takeover going on when the only players we are still linked with are pretty average, old or free or all three,do we really look like a team about to be taken over by a billionaire? dreaming is one thing but most on here are delusional

posted on 23/6/12

Fair One LIW, but he was still 32 and playing all those games could have cream crackered him , but Wilko saw summat worth having and took a chance
banana's and porridge

Don't think anyone is convinced were going to be taken over.

But there is talks going on, whether that ends in anything we can only hope
