It's not 'cheating' that gets me about Ronaldo. It's the way he almost invariably seeks to focus attention on himself.

Not celebrating teammates' goals, calling them over to himself when he's made an assist, sitting in the middle of the team circle before the penalties, visibly recriminating a team mate for failing to make the right run for his own misplaced pass...and there's the off the pitch narcissism about his good looks, wealth etc. etc.

I'm a Madrid fan, but I nevertheless find his attitude unbearably nauseating.

yeah, you're right, he doesn't care for team honours. not as if he was on the floor crying when united won the champions league in moscow...he's also the only good looking, wealthy footballer to have ever lived as well. the rest all resemble gargoyles and devote their lives to charity.

He's the only one I know of who's said "The envy me because I'm good-looking, rich and a superb footballer."

Also, I didn't say he always does that primadonna refusing to celebrate number, but he's the only player I've seen do it on several occasions, and the only one I've ever seen do it when his side's scored a last-gasp goal that all but saves them from being knocked out of a major tournament.

I'd probably be a bit more indlugent if these things were isolated occurrences, but they're quite recurrent unfortunately.

he's right though isn't he? a lot of the envy is down to those attributes listed, you admitted in a previous post that they were part of the reason why you don't like him. not sure about him not celebrating important goals for madrid, but aside from the emotion he showed in moscow, off the top of my head i can remeber him going mental, with team mates, after late winners against bolton and wigan in 08-09, neither of which he scored. perhaps it's something he's developed at madrid, because it certainly wasn't present whilst he was at united.

Nope your just an Abu even though you support a bigger more successful team in Madrid and are critisizing your own player it's all down to united.

There in a nutshell is the arrogance that's the reason for abus!

Everything has to be about them even when it's not.

nothing to do with it. i'm just correcting uneducated people who seem to think that players themselves dictate what order the penalties are taken.

Your logical thought process is flawed mate.

How does my finding his saying that nauseating doesn't equate to me being jealous of him? It equates to me disliking his arrogant, self-centred, big-headed nature.

If he'd said "People dislike my arrogant, self-centred, big-headed nature" I'd have actually agreed with him.

won everything there is to win whilst in england, lighting up the english game in the process...yet because he played for manchester united football club, there is an infatuation with him which is absurd. in normal circumstances, those who miss are vilified. ronaldo is to blame because for the coach asking him to take the fifth penalty... staggering.

You did say an I quote "Yet because he signed for united"

from what i could decipher from that post you seem to have forgotten your earlier comment, so i'll copy and paste it for you. "the off the pitch narcissism about his good looks, wealth etc. etc." see, you listed his good looks and wealth as one reason for not liking him.

loz, that was a separate article altogether, hope this helps

I know it was from a different article!

And my disliking comes from his cheating diving an feigning injury.

something which the very vast majority of footballers do then?

Seems you weren't even able to decipher the first one then.

I suggest you get back to Beatrix Potter and have another crack at my sentences after you've mastered your comprehension of Peter Rabbit.

Ronaldo's nowhere near Messi's level. Once the goals start drying up you'll hear no more from Ronaldo.

When xavi and iniesta retire messi will be average.

Dumbest comment of the week and it's earl!

posted on 1/7/12

To be fair to earl, i am thinking (and desperately hoping) that his comment was a tongue in cheek reference to how people stupidly claim that Messi is only good because of his midfield providers.

One would hope it was that, on here you never know!

It was just keeping in line with the comment before it. Of course messi is a fantastic player, what bugs me is everytime there is a debate about ronaldo, you get a whole swathe of people who's first thought is to come on and slate him by claiming he's "nowhere near messi's level".........................they let his lifestyle and confidence/arrogance cloud their judgement. I've even seen comments on here suggesting van persie is better than ronaldo, i mean, really, do people actually watch football?
