Players get picked based on the job SAF wants them to do against specific opposition in a specific type of game, and it includes factors such as experience.

They don't get graded from 1 to 10 on pure footballing ability, and the potential length of time they are likely to remain at the club after the season ends, and then the top rated players picked.

Whether SAF made a mistake picking a certain player in a game or not is a moot point relative to deciding to sell a player who featured in a big game recently. I believe Park's performance in that City game is clouding the reason for your anger i.e. had he played well and been sold, then would you be just as angry that SAF had picked a player for that big match, who he then sold at the end of the season.

Also have you considered at least the possibility that Park might just want to play regular football at the end of his career, and SAF respected that and decided to let him go.

How about if Scholes at 38 was sold to Oldham this window, and United bought Sneijder, would you be pointing out how ridiculous it is that SAF has sold him when he featured in a big game recently?

"fergie mustve thought he was on the decline yet played him"

Not if you read this from Park today?

The South Korean star, 31, who may succeed Joey Barton as R’s skipper, said: “I was the one who said I wanted to leave the club because I’d had a great offer.

“I was the one who said it to Manchester United.

“It was a difficult decision because United are a good club and everybody wants to play there.
