I think £8m is a fair price. I think we would be fine without him too.

He is young, English, and under long term contract. They want him, they must be made to pay through the nose for him - it's as simple as that for me.

You say £6m as a fair price, RM, who says we have to accept a fair offer? Has to be £8m+ for me.

Not sure where you have heard it from, but once again, I bet it's either nonsense or a non starter.

We won't sell/they won't pay what we want.

TRR, it's from "Sky Sources", not tribal football.

It's on the yellow ticker in SSN

Gartside on Twitter;

''no approach for Mark Davies and we don't want one either. He doesn't want to leave for good measure.''

Looks like a non-starter ....

Sorry Moses.

That's great TRR, we're all happy to see that Tweet. Don't feel too pleased with yourself though, Sky Sports is a reputable source.

Jordan Henderson 20mil, Phil Jones 16mil.

I think that should put him in the 10-15mil bracket.

There are a few flaws with your logic, Bricks.

1) Mark Davies isn't Phil Jones.
2) Mark Davies isn't Jordan Henderson
3) Swansea City are not Manchester United
4) Swansea City are not Liverpool
5) Michael Laudrup is not Alex Ferguson
6) Michael Laudrup is not Kenny Dalglish

Other than that, you're absolutely spot on.

£8m+ for me (not that he is worth it)

Thanks largehat.

I hadn't seen your comment before I posts his tweet. I am also not solely taking it as gospel. What diner expect Gartside to say?

Anyway. I hope he doesn't leave and I see no reason for him to either.

Not so sure about gartsides cocksure attitude about him not wanting to go. Suppose he knows but let's see how much he wants to stay if more money with a firm offer of Premier League football arrives. In fact he would be stupid to knock it back

Looking at him, I reckon he is a Fatty Arbuckles man. Or maybe TGI Fridays.

Gartside's not going to say anything onther than to deny it anyway.

All part of the poker face stuff which if you read cryptically means he'll be off.

A bit like the chaimans vote of confidence for a manager.

'Cryptic' doesn't mean 'the opposite of'.

Yes, because he has a long established track record of saying players aren't for sale and then selling them doesn't he Petrov.

I actually think Gartside believes he does that. This is no Anelka or Cahill scenario were they we're going regardless of him. In this case if mavies knocks on his door and says I am interested in going then he can negotiate a price. So he will probably go for £1.5m

According to Nixon it is not happening so who will we get to replace him??😄

If he goes then Vela is more than capable of filling that gap and I might add that in a fully fit first team is Mavies going to start anyway?

posted on 20/7/12

He's a definite starter in a fully fit midfield - him, Fab and Holden would be a very strong centre midfield three.

Hes a very good player in a not very good squad. If he played for swansea then i think he would thrive.

We shouldnt accept less than about 8 million, but saying that i would rather he stays
