Within the next two years or less we will have lost:
Malouda, Lampard, Essien, Miereles, Benayoun, Kakuta, Mikel or Romeu, & probably Mata or Hazard.
We are overstocked at the moment but we won't replace anyone as they leave now and it will be down to normal levels soon.
We should really already ship out Malouda & Essien
Forgot Sturridge off the list, does he count as a striker or a midfielder?
"5 Midfielders playing and 4 on the bench"
They won't all be fit all the time, maybe keep one of Essien and Meireles

Essien has a 3 year contract and RDM has repeatedly said he will bounce back next season.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think RDM must believe Essien's birth certificate is authentic to say that..................I suspect it isn't!

We have enough better alternatives to Essien now, I really don't see the value in keeping him unless there is genuine reason to believe he can improve............I have seen nothing to suggest this will happen.
We should get rid of Meireles, Yossi, Kakuta.
And loan De Bruyne, Josh and Piazon
based on three pre season games? While Mikel was integral to our CL success and to our better performances in the latter half of the season?
Even Mikel has been pretty good this pre season anyway
Yeh TBK, pre-season games mean everything didn't you know? MLS > Bayern

A nice healthy dose of BS from BK.
Mikel won't leave, because who in their right mind would 'pay' for him/
Essien looked slow and old and past it last season due to his injuries but this pre-season he seems to look a lot sharper now and a lot faster and albeit he hasn't been that impressive going forward as he use to he has still looked good, and if this is a sign he is getting back to somewhere near his old level of form then he is miles better than Mikel.
Mikels good in a defensive sense but offers f all going forward, Essien is the same at the moment but Essien is showing signs he is regaining some sort of level near his old level
and if this is a sign he is getting back to somewhere near his old level of form then he is miles better than Mikel.

100% correct, but because of our style of play in the latter half of the season.
The question though is will Mikel be so effective for the style of play we appear to want to play this season?
I have some concerns he will not be, but I hope he proves me wrong because he was one of the main reasons we won the CL last season, yet he gets no credit as usual.
