If the club offered to double

I wouldn't tell him to get lost because any footballer would chance their arm on an extra few quid.. who wouldn't?
Also he is a big deal to the club and I believe that we need him.

gradel as proven himself last season so tie him up on any deal he would accept, this is you having another go at bates. the player who rejected the first contract offer then came back did not want to come to leeds originally or would have accepted the contract. bates is right and your wrong you just cant stop moaning, same on 606

Fortress

So if gradel turn down the first offer, would that mean he didn't want to stay????

posted on 13/7/11

no it means that he has proven his worth and wants the money to match his ability. your just trying to pick something else to moan about, thats all you do. you know that what bates did was correct but you just like a good old moan

You can't have both ways fortress, you've just made yourself look Abit silly

It' would be ok for gradel to want more money but not a new signing lol, unbelievable

Gradel is not worth a new contract. If he was then Bates would have offered him one.

We've just signed a player who would rather sit on his ar se for 8 months than tear up a contract clause

It's all about money and it always has been, I don't want players who are just in for the money, but it's just s agent doing his job trying to get a bigger wage.

it is a totally different situation. gradel is a current player performing well at a club. the other is someone trying to get the most money he can from whichever team he can. if he wanted to come to leeds he would have accepted the offer, he did not want to come so stuff him. the only one on here who looks silly on here is you and blue who just try and pick apart everything the club does. suppose the 2-0 win tonight was not good enough either?

the result hardly mattered although with the poor quailty of opposition a win was on the cards

Lol I've always had Internet, just got a iPhone so it's easy

Some great points by everyone, taking them on board and having a good think on this one

On the brown point, it's five years since he left spurs and played for fulham, Wigan since so not sure right

I was pretty sure it was to do with Been entitled to another contract if he played another game

666..Absolutely spot on and fortress, you're correct in saying all Liw wants to do is criticise the club.

Koppie,read what LIW says:

where is the criticism in that?

Gradel has previously stated his preference to stay with us. He has said he owes the club.

It is easy to stereotype all young, foreign footballers, yet Gradel is married with a family.

Bearing in mind his petulance and immaturity in League one, that really shocked me.

I think he will stay.

This is my thoughts now

If the player rejected the offer, went to talk to another club, didn't get the deal they wanted, came grovelling back, good on the club

If the player agent was just doing his job, and trying to get Abit extra, and we've lost a player, on wages we were willing to pay, not sure that good management

Like I say tough one

LIW just wants the best for the club. Many on here blindly back Bates,Grayson ,the players etc just because they are at the club we love.
Well I am with LIW, if something it is wrong then no harm in pointing it out.

would be alot easier if we knew the player. would probably change peoples minds if we knew who it was

Yorkie

He did say that, but think of it this way, like you say married with kids, and he knows that if he goes elsewhere he can get a massive rise and probably secure his kids future, financially forever.

That is massively tempting, and while he may be loyal to leeds, hes more loyal to his family.

Am not saying he will leave and hopefully he won't

Been great debating tonight, some great points and plenty of people on, and you then get koppie being a ar se

Can Leeds offer the 20k per week Wet Sham have offered Gradel. He has said on a social network tonight that he would be a fool to refuse it so it is now down to Leeds to offer him a better offer to keep him.

posted on 14/7/11

still depends on the player LIW.
Why miss out on a key player that could bring promotion just because he changed his mind.
Its ok Bates spouting off but what about Grayson?
What if Grayson really wanted that player?
I do agree with you though, its probably a player we dont want.
Its all about Bates and his ego,it holds back our club so much.
Would you really want to play for Bates?

Fortess it would be, also if there was another club involved
