LH - you have been saying that pre-season results don't matter on Nuts. That is all I was referring to mate.
---

And they don't matter. But the PERFORMANCES matter when you have 4 poor performances in a row. If we play better teams and lose 2-0, 3-0 but play well, then that's still poor results but the outcome is better. We have not played well in any of the four games from what I can glean from match reports and comments from posters who have seen the games.

Went out at 3 to slatteries and was not intending on doing a match thread so did not know the teams but will take on advice and improve

I think benny and nuns give me a run for my money in not rating coyle

Yes, they do give you a run for your money, but you do take the biscuit

If only he would get better so that I could sit back and say I got it wrong. Life would be much easier for me. But I love my club and if I think someone is ruining it I will say at least until they stop

I asked for that Petrov -

We have lost a lot of games in the past when playing very well (and I'm talking league games). It's better it happens when there aren't points at stake. That's what pre-season is all about imo.

When is the next pre season kick about. I might ask to join save some of our lads getting injured and with the lack of intensity and the fitness I might be able keep up?

I can't think of a run of 4 games in all my time watching BWFC where we have played well, and not won any of them, or kept any clean sheets.

Pre-season is about planning and preparation for the season. I'm not making a really complex point here, I'm just saying, the signs are so far that the preparation isn't going well, and after the miserable 12 months we have just had, we're entitled to be a bit disconcerted about that at this stage.

You can draw hope from that though. Things will click if you are playing well. Maybe luck or something changes fortunes. If your playing badly you may get the odd win but there is little hope for a team to win playing badly

Any fan whatever side of the line (CEF) is entitled to ask those questions

LH - I actually think the point you have just made explains the over-reaction (in my opinion) to this pre-season. It is exactly because we have just been relegated that fans are looking at pre-season more intently. If we had stayed up comfortably I can guarantee that we wouldn't be this bothered by the last 4 results.

Reality check needed. August 18th is when it starts.

Apart from in coyles eyes we rarely played well last season. We fluked a goal against qpr that was not and wolves battered us but we won. That can happen playing badly and then you go down. Playing well even though not winning all games we would not have gone down.

Far too much sammy lee esque positives from clearly poor games still

Oi Petrov - cut out the 'line' stuff!!!

But you can't just switch winning on and off like a tap. It's the mentality of the club that's worrying. Players and management just accept poor shows with weak excuses and new goal posts. "It will get better" when?

posted on 29/7/12

We had the 'it will get better' all last season and it never did as we stayed in the bottom three.

Our starting line up today contained 7 players with full-international honours for their country.

Just a thought.

Evening everyone (sounds like a bit like an upside Benaud remark I know).
Evening LH ,had a great night on wed, great to meet you mate!.Ok im still a bit sore/raw about last season, but yes we have seen worse.I think like many if we are not in the mix by Oct we must look for a change.Im not convinced we will do well, but I acknowledge that I will be ranting if we are failing.Time for a Malt fellas and relax eh?.

Apart from sordell and ngog all the first team for August have played a big part pre season

Factually incorrect - i'll debate with you all night Petrov as you know. But don't post stuff that isn't correct.

Did we leave the bottom three for long last season? Did it get better? With that one be honest. Yes we got more points but Wigan got better we just got lucky apart from liverpool at home

You are on a roll now Petrov

So despite the two players who will get most of our goals next season (it's what they are paid for)!!! Brilliant stuff.

It got a lot better and we got out of the bottom three. Unfortunately we weren't out of the bottom three when it mattered.

If you'd said that, then no complaints!!!

Partly yes, partly no.

Yes because there is a sense that the players and manager let us down last season and unlike fans of Blackburn and Wolves, we stuck with them at the games. Season ticket sales are up on last season. There is a sense that they need to up their game and show that our faith (as fans as a whole - which is demonstrable) is going to be rewarded.

Partly no - because losing 2-0 to Hamilton Academical is an embarrassing scoreline in any circumstances you can think of.

Most of our goals? Have you watched ngog? An average of 1 a season. Hope he won't get most of our goals! ;(
