Whoever even thought SAF will be making money out of this obviously started supporting United yesterday and shouldn't be counted as a Red. It hurt me reading that as well, I can't believe he had to explain himself to some donkey fans that were causing a rift.
There was a fair few of our regular posters that insulted SAF on this issue yesterday.
They are a bunch of morons and should literately go hang them self with their green and gold scarf.

Why the fack would he receive any payments? Idiots.
I'd never even heard about this.

SAF - Legend
Just seen this myself on M.E.N website.
I don't think Fergie is on the take. But some 'senior management' will get shares if the IPO is successful. The prospectus says so. We'll never find out who though.
Turning on Fergie is possibly the worst strategy for disgruntled United fans though. He's the glue holding the mess together.

I highly doubt it was because of that letter. More to do with the increasing speculation in the media I would say.
I doubt that letter would've been the main factor if he's even seen it. I certainly didn't endorse the letter or agree with those who wrote it.
This is a post from a bitter on the MEN article which is a very good read:

I do not usually comment on non footballing matters concerning the club for two reasons. One - I do not know enough about the business world to offer educated opinion and Two - It hurts to see the obvious how we can not compete in the upper echelons of the transfer market as consistently as we used to and so, I try not think about it. But I will offer my opinion this time amidst some of the nonsense flying around about Sir Alex.
To me it has always been obvious what Sir Alex is doing. He is staying at the club knowing that if The Good Ship Manchester is going to be in turbulent waters. Then he is the best one to steer it. To me it is as simple and blatantly obvious as that.
I would think it highly likely that Sir Alex if not hating the Glazers personally, certainly hates what they have done to the clubs purse strings. But others have rightly pointed out, what can he do? Alex is being the hero, he is continuing doing his job regardless and maybe even because of this handicapping hard period in our clubs history. He knows that we can still compete with that extra 15 percent that his genius man management provides.
I suspect one day when the red, as well as the green and gold dust has settled, we will see an auto-biography that will tell us how he decided to grin and bear it bite his lip and put on a show for the worlds media. Yes the greatest manager of all time is effectively "taking one for the team". He is doing it for Love of MUFC, his legacy and knowing the old devil, or should I say red devil - for the sheer challenge it presents.
We'll never find out who though.
---------------------------------------------------
I thought when the time comes we would find out. Hopefully someone will be able to find out who is.

That letter sums up how I feel too. I cannot praise Sir Alex enough and really think that one day the truth will come out and he'll be even more of a hero to us supporters.
We'll never find out who though.

Well it's not the Glazers. They are the majority shareholders and owners. And that wouldn't make sense anyway.
And it's not Fergie, according to the man himself.
So who then? Gill? Arnold?
We'll never find out. They will all deny it.
My heart and head both say that Fergie isn't involved but that doesn't mean it's so. Greed is something that is apparent in all walks of life. Once you have some of the good life, you want more and more.
Gill said in 2004 'debt is the road to ruin' for football clubs. 18 months later he got a huge payrise and was backing our new owners to the hilt.
Please don't compare Fergie to Gill.
That's a very brave thing to say SE85.
You may get a lot of people disagreeing but no-one really knows.
Funrob
He has just debunked your theory that there is any 'truth' to come out.
Yet again he has reiterated that he gets support without any interferance or obstruction from the Glazers.
The fans who have labeled SAF as a yes man to the Glazers really need to hang their heads in shame.
As far as I am concerned they are a bunch of a-holes to the man.
I'm not saying it is true.
Like I said my heart and head say he's not.
But none of us know that for sure and never will. We just have to take him at his word, which we will because he's our manager and the greatest of all time.
But the Prospectus clearly states some 'senior management' are going to get a piece of the action. They have to be 100% transparent with that, without naming the people of course.

He hasn't 'debunked' anything. He just made a statement. If there is a 'truth' to come out it doesn't mean that Sir Alex is an evil liar, just that he may (and i'm saying may) have to say things like this in oder to keep the ship steady.
You don't know anymore than I but one thing we can agree on is the integrity of the man. The only thing we're disagreeing on is how he's using that integrity to serve the supporters.
Nothing more than i expected.
Cannot get my head round this whole - Fergie is in bed with the glazers thing.
He`s an employee.
Before we turn this into a Slanging match full of insults.
Let's make it perfectly clear that I'm not accusing Fergie of anything. I'm merely pointing out that if he indeed was going to benefit from the IPO, he is hardly going to come out and say so, is he?
I'm going to go with my heart and head and believe him. I don't think he is involved.
I'm less certain with Gill though. I don't trust him one bit.
Stretford_Ender85 (U10955)
Agreed.
Gill is a typical accountant.
I havent read the prospectus but I would envisage that the share options granted to senior management are a form of remuneration as opposed to cash or a bonus. Giving employees shares in the Company is a better way to motivate them and incentivise their work then just giving them cash – it encourages them to improve the value of the Company and thereby the value of their holding. Secondly it makes more sense from a tax perpsective to grant share options than cash bonuses.
andy green (andersred) was a disgrace on sky news yesterday saying that "we now know why sir alex praised the glazers".
Its quite clear that no matter what happens some fans have an agenda..a desire to satisfy some misplaced sense of self importance. Having a voice is great isn't it..now days the internet allows for snowball effects..generally idiots will buy into the overall social conscience...a mass connected unit of misinformation and serious lack of self thinking.
The world is getting too big for its boots.

Yea I read a lot of his comments on the Caf. And I usually disagree with them. I share his hatred for the owners but that's about it.
Turning against Fergie is utter lunacy at it's finest. Fergie didn't even know who Malcolm Glazer was 10 years ago. He didn't ask for this to happen. The Glazers made it happen (the debt) and Fergie has just been left to get on with things ever since.
