Definately worth a punt at half a mill, I reckon he could do a job in the championship
Harper, apparently, fans who tweet have seen it all over twitter. So if anyone who uses twitter sees it can you confirm it on here please, cause I'll only believe it when I see it or hear the confirmation on radio Derby.
According to Glick they've been chasing Sammon for over a year.
It's lads Ioaned the one and a half mill
Well I did big him up so gotta do my bit
Enjoy
Well even I would not complain at 500,000, but I cannot Wigan taking it. They spent like 2.5mill on him.
I'd rather he didnt sign for us at all. His record is:
2005–2007 U.C.D. 69 (13)
2008 Derry City 16 (3)
2008–2011 Kilmarnock 65 (17)
2011– Wigan Ath 32 (1)
Not exactly awe inspiring and the 1 goal in 32 for Wigan means that he is worth less than the £600k they reportedly paid for him.
I'd prefer we gave Bennett as many games as possible and I'd probably rather see Conor Doyle in attack that Sammon.
For Martinez to come out and say he will only go for £2.5m is a joke, but does tell you one thing - that Martinez is willing to sell him.
If we sign him I hope I am proved wrong but .....
I'd probably rather see Conor Doyle in attack that Sammon
A worse footballer I have yet to see in the top 5 leagues in English football
You were doing well till the Doyle comment Peeder.
Bringing him to England last year was a gamble and it hasn't paid off. Obviously Nigel has seen something. in him so would need to see him in our squad to make a decision.
More smoke and mirrors by GSE I'm afraid.
Tom Glick on the phone from Derby to some back street seedy little office in Michigan;
"The Messi and Ronaldo bid's won't be believed by the locals Andy"
Andy Appleby replies;
Those fools will believe anything you say Tom, after all you've been promising them a Striker for 3 years"
Tom Glick;
"I know Andy, but one or two of the little schmucks are catching on that we've got no money and we've pulled off a big lie behind my smiley teeth and positive attitude"
Andy Appleby:
"Damm, We only need another decade to get the wage bill down to League 2 levels and we'll be making a clear profit from DCFC. A £500k bid for Connor Salmon it is then, don't forget though Tom, if we get permission to speak with him, offer him 20k a year and tell him he's got to work in Tesco's for 20 hours a week as well.
Got to go now Tom, one of the local Hookers has hired this room for an hour this afternoon. bye"
This guy has a scoring record to rival Tyson's. Are we trying to corner the market in strikers who can't score. If so then how about Billy Paynter from Leeds or any one of five from the red dogs.
1 goal in 32 for Wigan.....
Well it's an improvement on Tyson's haul for last season.
Will you be throwing a party when Tyson scores?
Are we trying to corner the market in strikers who can't score
No but good strikers cost money
Seems the mighty Bristol City are rubbing our noses in it by trying to sign 2 decent strikers while we bumble about with a naff 1

"Will you be throwing a party when Tyson scores?"
Flag Day?
The scoring record of the red dog forwards was nothing to cheer about last season. The leading scorer who might have reached double figures had the season been extended to 100 games has cleared off. When you consider that Tyson was a free then he looks a bargain at the side of the likes McGoldrick et al.
I think we should lay off Tyson. He will score more goals if he is supported rather than having us on his back all the time. He was trying too hard last season after an injury hit first half of the season.
I urge this not just for Tyson's sake but also for the sake of DCFC and supporters. It will do good only for our opposition (and Red Dogs) if we get on his back. Let's just support him for the common good.
Tyson is being paid extremely well to do a job. If he doesn't do that job then he deserves all the stick he gets. What would happen to you Ramdini if you failed to do your job?
Ah, the famous Ramdini "Let's support XX however God-awful they clearly are, because they wear the famous Black and White"
Give it a rest, man: "trying too hard"?!! What kind of BS is that?!! Are you suggesting all the other Derby players are not giving 100% which, by definition, is the absolute most you could try?
Utter nonsense and drivel.
He is right though. Tyson was just like that for us, he went through a bad patch and was so desperate to score he'd snatch at the chances he got invariably missing. When he did score he'd score in waves.
Trouble is with him is that he's not a winger, just because he has pace it doesn't make him a winger. He was best for us down the middle, unfortunately for you his level is League 1. He will get the odd goal but decent defenders at this level have no trouble with him.
How many "decent" defenders are there at this level...?
Not every club has 'decent' defenders, yet he's failed against every club. Clapping him for effort won't make him into Pele and, whilst undoubtedly confidence has a role to play for any sportsman, he just isn't good enough at this level.
Bad signing; get rid and move on.
Please stop quoting this "1 in 32" rubbish. His scoring record is still poor, but he only had 8 starts.
Has anyone actually seen him play? He'd scare the **** out of and cause serious problems for championship defenders. He's not coming though. God knows why Wigan want to keep him just to sit on the bench and leave on a free in a few years
Tyson is'nt getting the type of service he needs, he needs balls threading through defenders and not at his feet and for me...Bailey is the player for that.
Im willing to give him a chance this season, if/when he gets a goal it should do him a world of good....A bit like Torres
Peeder, how do you know he'd scare the hell out of Championship defenders? Did you think that when he played for Kilmarnock?
Perhaps we should sell them as a pair then, OTR: good thinking that man!!
All I'm saying is, if you want Tyson to perform even worse, give him stick. If you want him to be more effective, support him.
Anybody not doing his job needs to be told of it - in private. But perpetual criticism is counter-productive.
I have no special brief for Tyson, in fact I would not have signed him at all. But as long as we have him on our books - support him. It's only self interest really. But if your personal interest lies in getting in snide remarks, then go ahead with your destruction of a dcfc asset.
"how do you know he'd scare the hell out of Championship defenders?"
It's an opinion. Given that Sammon has never played in the championship it's going to be rather difficult to provide you with definitive proof that he'd perfrom well at this level.
Is this an opinion based on his prolific scoring record then Bolder?
