Nigel feeling confident is he?
He not fielding an XI?
emphasis is going to be on youth in u21 league, which still allows few over age players which will allow for players coming back from injury to get game time, good idea to me.
With emphasis on youth development im not surprised by this. Just out of interest Steej...how long u been supporting Belper?...
Err for as long as ive been watching football Backo. About 15 yrs. Was a DCFC season ticket holder for over 10yrs but nowdays 'keep it local'. You sound like you may have some connection? If a few older heads can play with the youngsters it could be good. Hopefully they will come to the meadow... fingers crossed!
Cheers TBR. Added another V players
Used to ply for Belper in the 90s Steej. Had about 4 seasons there.
We had to let Backo go; too wooden in midfield.
This is why, they are in an under 21 league

I made a joke about you typing 'ply' instead of 'play'.
It's hilarious.
You may laugh at will
Just to be clear, I have no affiliation with Belper Town FC and never have had.
i actually didnt see that! I did play midfield tho
Been running a quiz on the BTFC forum. Someone has suggested you could be D. Baxter...
Yeah thats me Steej. Had some great times at Belper. Promotions, FA Vase semi final..great town to play for.
The Moatmen used to smash Belper to bits in those days

I remember that game Milf. That Belper team changed dramatically a year or so after that game. Had some good games v Gresley..especially Derbyshire Senior Cup Finals when Futcher and Birtles were in charge at Gresley. Andy Garner got a late winner to beat us
I used to watch Rovers loads back then - went to the FA Vase Final in '91 with my Dad and was hooked... we were 3-0 down after 1/2 hour, pulled it back to 3-3 after '90, 4-3 up in ET and Guiseley equalized with what seemed like seconds to go for a 4-4 draw!!
We went to the replay @ Bramall Lane too, lost 3-1
Rovers won the Midland Premier (I think it was called that?) under Futcher/Birtles and would have got promoted to the Conference if it wasn't for the ramshackle old ground ... used to finish above Burton Albion back then, how times have changed!
Just looked it up - 'Southern League Premier' it was - Champions in 1996/97
Never knew people on here were so cultured...
Have Burton gone under then?
