No worries mallorca.

I find it difficult to blame the players after what I saw today. All of them underperformed by a large degree after a summer of preparation.

No fight, no idea, no direction.

It has to be Coyle that takes this one on the chin.

You have to remember if Holden had played we would have won this one!!!

If Holden would have played, that Marney fella would have broke every bone in his body.

Right dirty b******d. Wish we had him.

when a team come in to the premier league and do well it does'nt last they get found out, when coyle brought burnley up they did well till he was found out.all out attack with nobody to score goals is a dangerous game even more so with a leaking defence ,and no midfield.an ageing centre foreward and the worst centre half in the football league.

Knight was our best player today .... so that tells you somat about the rest of them.
If not for Boggers it would have been 4-0 with ease.

A lot of people on here will be hurt by this result beyond the 2-0 score line. Usually on here to tell the neggos that everything will be alright. Conspicuous by their absence. Come on lads it's only a game ;(

Oh for god's sake Petrov, don't insinuate people are more bothered about the point scoring on here than the actual point scoring of the football club. I would give up using this forum forever if it meant one more point for the whites in any given season. Besides, you've made this point at least once already in this thread. Please will you give it a rest.

My opinion

As for more I suggested hurt beyond the result. The result hurts all first. After that we move on to our opinions and some have staked a lot on this game even to you during pre season. When you were worried you were shot down and told it will be fine on the 18th. You put your neck on the line.

Petrov - i've made one comment further up the thread which I believe makes my position regarding today's performance and result very clear. This is only my second comment (since the final whistle).

You are trying to be clever, but I see right through it. There isn't a single poster on here that is happy with today. But, there are a lot of posters that have the sense not to think it is the end of the world either.

The reason I say that you are trying to be clever is very simple.

You push people to make predictions, state their expectations and then villify them for doing it. Take TRR and the 100pt or me and the 4th place finish as examples.

The reason you never predict or let anyone know what your expectations for this season are, is you are playing it safe. You look back at what has happened meaning that you only comment on what has occurred.

It allows you to slate people who are brave enough to nail their colours to the mast, but exonerates you from any comeback. I'd rather there were people like TRR, Mallorca, HH, etc who are willing to state their position, rather than you and a couple of others who play safe and then launch grenades at the people who have the audacity to make predictions.

I am incredibly proud to be a Bolton fan, and love the club ALMOST as much as my daughter. I'll debate with you all year long, but please don't see being optimistic or making predictions as a weakness

Whichever way mate, honestly, you put too much stock in these things. I'd rather "lose" every argument or debate or discussion or hypothetical bet between now and end of the season than have to give up 50 quid and my entire Saturday to watch a performance and a result like that, especially in a local derby. It's just a football forum, I honestly can't imagine anyone at today's game or following it online or on the radio was thinking about losing face on here while we were being battered by mediocre opponents.

I would compare the importance to people of Wanderers results to what goes on on this forum as the difference between all the matter in the universe on one hand and a crumb of poo on the other. It's just insignificant what people think of you on here.

I would not if the last 12 months had not happened. Owen Coyle is slowly destroying the club before eyes and I am entitled to see those that are supporting that as encouraging the damage. Your right no one is happy with today but still the buts appear. It cause I am a passionate fan that unrealistic stances frustrate me so much.
I have stated my position coyle is rubbish and should have been sacked last Dec. prediction wise he has bought badly and we wont go up automatically when you stop pulling me up on that then of course I will leave your predictions alone.

How can anyone be encouraging any damage to anything by posting on an internet forum? It's just a talking shop for fans. Nobody on here has any influence over what goes on at the club.**

Hypothetically

posted on 18/8/12

No it's not really hypothetical is it? I don't think there are circumstances in which Coyle or anyone else is going to come on to JA606 and see a Moses post and do something differently, not even in a hypothetical scenario is that remotely likely, and it's certainly not why I post on here, or anywhere else, in the hope of influencing anything at the club. If I wanted to do that I'd write letters or go to fans' forums, even then though I'd probably have no influence.

Petrov - I am just as passionate as anyone else on here. Your last comment came across that you think slating Coyle makes you passionate whereas if you don't slate him, it makes you less passionate.

The only thing I can tell you for sure, is that OC has the complete backing of the board, PG and Eddie. You can call for him to be sacked until you're blue in the face, but for now he is our manager and is likely to be so for the forseeable future.

You therefore have 2 choices. Support him as a by-product of supporting the club, or continue to tell everyone on here what we already know!!

posted on 18/8/12

Hypothetically means if that was the case. So if it was the case that we had any influence then backing coyle on here is doing damage. Not actually just if it was the case. Similar to the many get behind the team threads on here last season

Petrov, beleive it or not, I supported the club more than I will ever support Coyle. I have given my reasons for supporting him however, I have criticised him in the past, and I criticised his team selection today. I have also stated that eventually my patience may run out ...

I take choice three. To continue to voice my concern on here. That will be pulled up by some posters who I will then debate that with. They tell me I am wrong vice versa then what happens on the pitch will strengthen one of our arguments.

Bad day eh?. From what I saw apart from the obvious midfield problem the back four looked so unorganised not just down the middle but from the flanks. That I believe is why Petrov should not play in away games his attitude to tracking back is disgusting.
We now have 2 games quickly in a short space of time,so where we go from here could be defined by the weekend.Imagine 1 or 2 points from nine like last year, seasons are defined early doors and early March we need something quickly or our better players will be going in Jan.
Anyway did you manage to get a few beers in pre match today, bloomin wild around there aint it?

Moses in the mean time we have been relegated and in that time may fail to bounce back. It's commendable you back someone but sometimes people leave it too late

posted on 18/8/12

Petrov - if you have concerns, please do voice them on here. At the moment a lot of us have concerns so you won't be some lone voice of reason or going against the grain or anything like that.

What I'm asking, and it is only a request, you can post absolutely anything you like of course, is that you think about whether it's a good thing to chuck custard pies at folk after a bad performance, because chances are, they're as down about the performance as you are. It's entirely up to you what you post, ultimately.

Maybe your right but then it always takes two to tango.

Did the fans boo at the end of the game?

Good evening nuns, I hope the missus is feeling a little bit better today.

I couldn't really single out any individual such as Petrov, although he was absolutely awful - for individual criticism. I would say Knight and Sordell (from the starting XI) had OK games, everyone else was poor. And when you have such poor performances across the team, that's when you can point the finger at aspects of the manager's preparation. Did he organise the team in the right way and did he motivate the players? I think not, today.

Like you I am delighted we have another game as soon as Tuesday, it gives all nine of those players and Coyle a chance to bounce back quickly. Whether that will be achieved, I don't know.

I got the coach there today mate, took your advice actually, not to get the train. So didn't get to the ground until 2.10pm, so no real time to go looking for 'safe' pubs etc. Saw Benny on the way in, said hello and shook hands.
