Go after them? What

posted on 21/8/12

It's a quote from Gary Pallister, another one of United's record breaking buys.

& all true.

Perhaps the BBC should avoid Pallister's punditry.

So you equate history and tradition solely to success?

"Van Persie wanted a club with tradition and heritage. United will always have the edge over City when it comes to that"

Van Persie wanted a club that would give him a big fat pension cheque and United were the perfect choice.

Who said that?

What bit dont you agree with, please tell.

Pallister, in that interview, which I disagree with both in his interpretation of tradition and the fact that RVPs agent only said it as soon as everyone else dropped out of the running for him.

Fergie's spent £60m so far on Van Glassankle, Shinpad the Crab and a bunch of unknowns. Do you think he's getting his own back on the Glazers because he missed out on that juicy IPO bonus?

In fact, this entire paragraph is ridiculous.

""The move for Robin van Persie shows not only can United still compete with City's vast wealth, but they can attract players away from City because of everything the club and the manager stands for."

We never bid for him after the initial stage, there was no way on earth we were going to be able to this summer with four strikers already on the books, which is why Mancini and Marwood fell out over it.

I still maintain he is a good signing for you, but to use his signing as proof you can tempt players away from us is wrong - we need to actually be involved for that to be proved correct.

because RVP made it clear he wanted to come to United you dont agree with it.

you could see RVPs excitement at signing for such a big club with a great history, one that the little boy inside him couldn't wait to join. Coincidentally when he actually was a little boy, City were in the second division.

What happened to Nasri, Ozil, Benzema, Moura, Hazard and Sneidjer then?

City never wanted van persie , mancini has since explained very clearly,he has 4 top strikers anymore would of rocked the boat too much
Of course city wanted united to pay top price and big wages thats why they bluffed about being after him,it would of been negligent not too, nothing to do with choice hes was always united bound but arseenal will have used citys bluff well
