Which suggests that we should have been experienced enough then to get the job done tonight.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Had we have disgraced ourselves I would agree but we did not, we were just beaten by a very good side with a lot more experience than us
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We were not beaten by a more experienced side.
We gave them the damned match.
God only knows what Harry Kane is thinking.
Son too.
With Levy’s attitudes they’ll always be playing with Davies & Trippier ... or like kind.
We outplayed them and should have won, regardless of experience, like we did Real Madrid and Dortmund.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the end of the day they took their chances we did not, thats what you get with experienced players like Higuan and Dymbala.
If you want to look upon it that way then there is no way we should have come back from 2-0 down out there but they let us.
Over the two games we got away with a missed penalty, a blatant pen not given against us. I see none of you are going on now about our miraculous comeback out there.
A few years ago we could have collapsed out there and today they were clever in what they did. Yes they mugged us off a bit but thats what experience does.
How did that average Real Madrid side knock out highly fancied PSG? We beat Real easy so by rights PSG should have walloped them

I think last season’s team would have won this match.
Walker & Rose make the difference.

We were lucky against Madrid.
Believe it or not the worst thing we did tonight was score.
We came out for the 2nd half not knowing whether to defend our lead or go for more and we got caught in two minds.
We just dont use common sense at times.
Look at us bringing Llorente on for a start. we bring on a big striker who will hopefully win a header and us get a knockdown and what do we do? We carry on tip tapping it across the back with 3 minutes to go.
Its always easy to look back at what was wrong but players and managers dont have that luxury. Its hardly a reason to call us bottlers IMO.
They made tactical changes and by the time we reacted they had scored twice.
I do think Poch might have done better and agree with Ace but thats in hindsight.
Lets just be honest when we face a really top outfit some of our players are just not good enough, which was highlighted when city tore us a new one.
Neither full back is good enough for CL. Dier is not really good enough either. As for Lloris and his distribution at times thats a total disgrace.
Yes they are all good enough to face the likes of Stoke and Palace but when you face the likes of Juve they get exposed big time

I'm not having the experience thing. Lloris is a top international. Jan is 31. Dembele is 30. Kane has been top PL goal scorer for 3 years now.
I think if anyone is suffering from lack of experience it's Poch. Juve have old legs, but he brings on the statuesque Llorente and paceless Lamela? Surely Moura wouldve caused them more grief. Also, should've changed up to a back 3 ASAP when their formation change left us exposed - either Davies moving across and Rose coming on, or Dier moving back and Wanyama coming on.
Juve got a lot of success against Davies but Poch didn't address it, must show that Rose is finished at the club. He certainly won't be happy at not being involved in a game of this magnitude.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This a million times , we bought on a big guy and are crossing was awful, pace , pace we need , they were dead on there at he back , but once again , we go back sideways, back sideways, we needed to press press press

Kane is more than experienced enough to do the same for us but had a quiet one tonight. Son too.
We came back into the first leg because despite the lapses in defending on occasion, we started getting hold of the game and ended up being the better team. We've shown over the CL campaign how good we can be and it looked the same in the first leg against Juve and tonight for the most part. That's why I feel it was a balls up.
Lloris is a top international
---------------------------------------------------------
That really is a matter of opinion, his distribution is appalling. His kicking is awful. Ok his shot stopping is reasonable but look at how many times he costs us in important games.
Just think back to chelsea at home this season. 1-1 and he makes an appalling throw and then lets a relatively easy shot under his body to lose the game.
I dont think he is a glaring weakness but I would definitely not call him a top international
Comment deleted by Site Moderator
Disagree about Dier.
He should have come off at HT though. Clearly wasn't comfortable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Believe me I love Eric and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to see him become one of our greats. He is brave, he is a winner everything about him is great except for his football ability.
He gets caught in possesion far to often for a midfield player. He often attempts ambitious passes crossfield on 60 yards and fails. His first touch is average at best and if the truth be known over the last year he has looked like a centre half playing in midfield.
I think he has found his level in the prem and will get found out if he plays centre midfield at this level or international level.
IMO his technical ability is just not good enough for the top level
Fact is this was a match Spurs had won.
All 22players on that pitch know it.
JUVE are laughing their heads off.
But I have a feeling some Spurs players might review their options.
Levy. Had better be thinking very hard.

Nothing wrong with the throw, if Wanyama was able to display the touch of a teenager and just cushion that ball to the side as opposed to having to control it then it wouldn’t have happened. Not saying that Lloris didn’t fack up by not saving it.

That was always going to be the case anyway with some clubs paying 300 and 400k a week which is something we cant compete with.

I agree with some of that but I have to question Lloris's decision making. Would I have thrown the ball to Wanyama at that stage of the game knowing he has the first touch of a hypo on rollers skates? No I dont think so, if I was the keeper with a minute to go that ball would have been fly kicked into their half for certain.
