Scotland and Northern Ireland's Euro 2020 play-off finals will be made free-to-air on UK television, Sky Sports has announced.

On 12 November, Northern Ireland host Slovakia, while Scotland visit Serbia.

The winners of each tie will take a place at next summer's rescheduled European Championship.

Scotland have not qualified for a major international tournament since the World Cup in 1998.

Northern Ireland are looking to repeat their qualification for Euro 2016 - their first finals for 30 years.

"We know how significant these fixtures could be for fans of Scotland and Northern Ireland," said Sky Sports managing director Rob Webster.

"With two sides on the brink of qualifying for a major tournament, we felt it was the right moment in these exceptional and unique circumstances to make the games more widely available."

Richard John Parfitt, OBE (12 October 1948 – 24 December 2016) was an English musician, best known as a singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist with rock band Status Quo.

Parfitt began his career in the early 1960s, playing in pubs and holiday camps. He joined Status Quo in 1967 when they were looking for an additional singer. He wrote songs for the band and remained with them for 49 years. He occasionally guested with other bands, and recorded an unreleased solo album in 1985. In 2016, Parfitt temporarily retired from touring with the band due to ill health, and died in December of that year. His only solo album, Over and Out, was released posthumously in 2018.

Bernadette Therese Nolan (17 October 1960 – 4 July 2013) was an Irish actress, singer and television personality, formerly lead vocalist of the girl group the Nolans. She was the second youngest of sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda and Coleen.

The Nolans began in 1974 and went on to have seven UK Top 20 hits, including "I'm in the Mood for Dancing" (1979), "Gotta Pull Myself Together" (1980) and "Attention to Me" (1981). They won the 1981 Tokyo Music Festival with "Sexy Music". She left the group in 1995 to become an actress. On television, she had roles in the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside from 2000–2002 and the ITV police drama The Bill from 2002–2005. while her numerous roles in stage musicals included Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers (1998–2000), Hannah Owens in Flashdance: The Musical (2008–2009) and Mama Morton in Chicago (2012). She was also a member of the Nolans line-up that reformed for a successful tour of the UK and Ireland in 2009. She died from breast cancer in July 2013.

Connor Hall's extra-time winner sent National League North strugglers Chorley into round two for only the third time as they piled more misery on 2013 FA Cup winners Wigan.

Prince Fumihito, the brother of Japan's Emperor Naruhito, has been officially declared heir to the throne during a ceremony in Tokyo.

Fumihito is six years younger than his brother Naruhito, who became monarch last year after their father abdicated.

Emperor Naruhito has no sons and his daughter is barred from inheriting the throne, despite calls for reform.

The "Rikkoshi no rei" ceremony had been delayed by seven months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

It was attended by the imperial family and 46 guests, most of whom were wearing masks and maintained a distance from each other, according to Kyodo news agency.
