Manchester United remain "absolutely committed" to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, says executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Woodward's comments were contained in the club's first-quarter results, released early in error on Thursday.

Solskjaer came under intense pressure following successive defeats by Arsenal and Istanbul Baseksehir.

But Woodward said the club "remain absolutely committed to the positive path we are on under Ole".

United are 14th in the Premier League, having won three and lost three of their opening seven matches.

Jude Law has discussed co-star Johnny Depp's exit from Fantastic Beasts 3 after he was fired from the film.

The Hollywood star was asked to step down from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in JK Rowling's fantasy series of blockbuster films after a libel suit filed against The Sun newspaper was summarily dismissed by the High Court.

Depp, 57, had originally taken legal action after the publication labelled him a 'wife beater' in reference to his acrimonious and ultimately short-lived two year marriage to the actress Amber Heard.

Talking about the actor's exit, Law, 47, who plays Albus Dumbledore in the franchise, said it was 'unusual' for him as Depp had only done one day of filming.

A letter written by a Titanic hero who sacrificed his life to save others has sold at auction for £42,000.

Baptist preacher John Harper gave his lifejacket to another passenger and went down with the doomed ocean liner in April 1912.

His last letter was sold at an online auction of Titanic memorabilia in Wiltshire on Saturday.

Auctioneer Andrew Aldridge said: "John Harper was probably one of the bravest men on that boat."

Written on Titanic stationery on April 11, 1912 to a fellow clergyman, the letter was posted at Cobh in Ireland, which was known as Queenstown when the Titanic stopped at the port before setting out across the Atlantic.

Pastor Harper, 39, was the pastor of Walworth Road Baptist Church, in London. He was a widower and was travelling with his daughter Annie Jessie and his sister Jessie W. Leitch to Chicago to preach at the Moody Church.
