Wing Jonny May scored a superb solo try as England claimed an emphatic and entertaining Autumn Nations Cup victory against Ireland at Twickenham.

May crossed twice as the hosts dominated the first half and the second try, covering most of the pitch as he chased his kick, was one of his finest.

The hosts retained control after the break with two Owen Farrell penalties.

Unwilling to let May take all the plaudits, Jacob Stockdale chased a kick to give Ireland their only try.

Tony Pulis' tenure as Sheffield Wednesday boss started with a defeat at Preston, as he saw his new team have to play for more than 70 minutes with 10 men.

The visitors had Josh Windass sent off after 17 minutes for a dreadful high challenge on Joe Rafferty.

Tom Barkhuizen gave the home team the lead with a well-hit volley after Owls goalkeeper Keiren Westwood's punch clear dropped to him 16 yards out.

Wednesday pushed for an equaliser but struggled to create any clear chances and defeat means they remain second bottom of the Championship.

Wycombe kept only their second clean sheet since promotion to the Championship as they frustrated Brentford at Adams Park.

The visitors had the best chance when Bryan Mbeumo's shot on 28 minutes was brilliantly tipped on to the post by Wycombe keeper Ryan Allsop.

His opposite number, David Raya, came to the fore late on as he saved from Daryl Horgan's volley.

Jay Dasilva went close in stoppage time for Brentford but his effort went narrowly wide.

A search for two missing fishermen whose boat sank off the Sussex coast has been called off.

A major rescue effort began at Seaford, near Newhaven, on Saturday when the coastguard received an emergency alert at about 06:00 GMT.

One crew member was found clinging to a buoy and taken to hospital.

Despite an extensive search for two other crew members, the coastguard confirmed it had terminated efforts to find them at 15:00 GMT.

The emergency signal put the 45ft scalloping vessel, which was registered in Brixham, about three nautical miles off the coast.

Throughout Saturday a number of vessels, including local fishing boats, took part in the search.

Eastbourne and Newhaven's RNLI lifeboats, two coastguard rescue helicopters and a fixed wing aircraft, and Birling Gap and Beachy Head Coastguard Rescue Teams were all involved, as were 12 other vessels which responded to appeals for help.

Scotland's Autumn Nations Cup fate is out of their own hands after they fell to a frantic defeat by France at Murrayfield.

Their hopes of reaching the final now rest on whether Italy can beat France in Paris next week.

The sides were level at the break, but within minutes of the restart Virimi Vakatawa claimed the game's only try.

Scotland had to hang on against repeated French attacks, but their brave defending went unrewarded.

Gregor Townsend's side were aiming for a sixth consecutive Test win for only the third time ever, and the first since 1990, but they were never in a winning position against the French.

France's win ends a run of four successive defeats at Murrayfield, and is their first win in Edinburgh since 2014.

I think Arteta whole game plan is to defend for 85 minutes of the 90 and hope for a couple of chances to nick a win as he knows he has a good goalkeeper and has a lot of luck since he took charge.

Ethiopia's prime minister has given forces in the northern region of Tigray 72 hours to surrender as government troops advance on the capital, Mekelle.

Abiy Ahmed told Tigrayan leaders they were "at a point of no return".

The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), which controls the mountainous region, has vowed to keep fighting.

The conflict has reportedly killed hundreds and displaced thousands in recent weeks. The UN has warned it could trigger a humanitarian crisis.

Earlier the Ethiopian military warned Mekelle's 500,000 residents that the city would be encircled by tanks and subjected to artillery fire.

"There will be no mercy," a spokesman said.

China is to make the first attempt to retrieve rocks from the Moon since the 1970s.

It is hoped the unmanned Chang'e-5 probe, to be launched on Tuesday, will bring back samples to help understand the Moon's origin and formation.

The last mission of its kind, Luna 24, was by the Soviet Union in 1976.

If the latest probe is successful, China will become the third country to have retrieved lunar rock, after the US and the USSR.

Labour is calling on the government to bring forward £30bn in capital spending over the next 18 months to create new jobs.

Prior spending commitments made by the government include the hiring of 50,000 more nurses, and 20,000 extra police officers by 2023.

However, the BBC's Reality Check team points out that while 30,000 new nurses will be trained locally or recruited from overseas, 20,000 of the 50,000 roles announced will be existing nurses persuaded to stay in the profession.

The Reality Check team also points out that adding 20,000 police officers will return total staffing levels to the 143,000 police officers employed prior to the 2010 election when the Conservatives came to power.

Slovak egg cheese is typically served at Easter time and goes by various names including hrudka, cirak, sirok, sirecz and more. Essentially, it's a ball of eggs and milk that have been cooked until the proteins separate into curds and the liquid separates into the whey. The technique for making hrudka is similar to making farmers cheese.

"Goodbye" is a song recorded by British girl group Spice Girls. It was written by the group, Richard Stannard, and Matt Rowe, while it was produced by the latter two. The song became the girls' first song without the vocals of Geri Halliwell. It was released by Virgin Records on 11 December 1998 and was later included on their third studio album Forever (2000). "Goodbye" is a pop ballad that lyrically consists of the group's farewell to a friend, specifically Halliwell. The lyrics were also seen, by the media and fans alike, as the group's end, although the idea was dismissed by the girls.

With "Goodbye", the Spice Girls became the first act to have three consecutive Christmas number-one singles since The Beatles in 1965.
