All 237 Lloyds Pharmacy branches inside Sainsbury's supermarkets will close their doors forever today.
The closures were initially set to happen over the next year but were pushed forward.
The decision is believed to be putting 2,000 jobs at risk within the UK, with a previous announcement blaming 'changing market conditions'.
According to a report by The Mirror, the closures come after a huge restructuring operation at the firm - the UK's second biggest chain of chemists after beauty store Boots.
A Lloyds Pharmacy spokesperson told Pharmacy Business: 'In January 2023 Lloyds Pharmacy announced the withdrawal of pharmacy services from all Sainsbury's stores, to take place throughout 2023.

Bretagne (c. September 1999 – June 6, 2016) was a Golden Retriever rescue dog who searched for survivors at Ground Zero after the September 11 attacks. It was the first assignment for her and her owner and trainer, Denise Corliss, and they worked there for 10 days. Corliss, a volunteer firefighter with the Cy-Fair Fire Department, began training Bretagne for search and rescue work at just eight weeks old.
She is believed to have been the last surviving dog from the 9/11 attacks when she was euthanized in Texas in 2016; she was 16 years old and suffering from kidney failure. As Bretagne entered the animal hospital in Cypress, Texas, firefighters and search and rescue workers from the fire department lined the sidewalk and saluted. She was carried out later, her body draped in an American flag.

The number of people taking a strong interest in the news has dropped by around a quarter in the last six years, a global study suggests.
A report by Oxford University's Reuters Institute says 48% of people around the world are very or extremely interested in the news - down from 63% in 2017.
In the UK, the proportion is lower than the global average at 43%.
More than a third of people (36%) worldwide say they sometimes or often actively avoid the news.
The authors of the institute's report said there was evidence that audiences "continue to selectively avoid important stories such as the war in Ukraine and the cost-of-living crisis as they cut back on depressing news and look to protect their mental health".
The Digital News Report 2023 also concluded that traditional TV and print news media are continuing to decline, while "online consumers are accessing news less frequently than in the past and are also becoming less interested".
Michael O'Neill will not exactly be at the stage of picking up the phone to Steve Clarke, but the Northern Ireland manager might soon have a similar conundrum to solve as his Scotland counterpart.
Clarke, as Gordon Strachan was before him, has been faced with how best to utilise two outstanding left-backs in Liverpool's Andy Robertson and Kierney Tierney of Arsenal.
While Strachan experimented with Tierney at right-back in a back four, the current boss of the Tartan Army has often adapted a 3-5-2 formation and played the former Celtic man as a left-sided centre-back, with Robertson at left wing-back.
Nobody is at all suggesting that Northern Ireland youngsters Conor Bradley of Liverpool, winner of 12 caps so far, and Trai Hume of Sunderland, capped twice, are operating at the level of the Scottish pair.
However, the rapid rise the two natural right-backs have made over the last two years could soon elevate their importance within the international squad to a degree that makes boss O'Neill feel he has to find a place for both of them in his team.
"Yes, it's a fair comparison," said former Northern Ireland international Chris Brunt when asked about the similarities of having two strong players in the same position.
And Brunt, a stalwart of the side during most of O'Neill's first reign as Northern Ireland manager, gave an interesting insight into how his old boss might approach the situation.
"It is something Michael always looked at before. You have to get the players that are playing at the highest level on a regular basis into your team wherever you can," he continued.
"I think there are ways and means of getting them into the team and if Michael wants to do it, he'll find a way. Definitely."
The countdown is on.
Euro 2024 is just a year away, with 24 teams battling it out for the one crown in Germany between 14 June and 14 July.
