Elwood Hughes Edwards Jr. (November 6, 1949 – November 5, 2024) was an American voice actor. He was best known as the voice of various soundmarks for the Internet service provider America Online which he first recorded in 1989. This included AOL's trademark "You've got mail" greeting.
Scotland took gold at the men's World Curling Championship after a dramatic victory over Switzerland in Moose Jaw, Canada.
A solitary point in the final end proved decisive for world number one Bruce Mouat's rink, who beat Sweden and Canada to reach the gold medal match after a topsy-turvy round-robin stage.
The Scots, who started without last stone advantage, fell behind early on with the Swiss taking a 1-0 lead after the opening end.
Three consecutive blank ends followed before the Scots scored two in the fifth end to edge in front before their opponents retook their narrow lead with a two of their own in the sixth.
Momentum - and the lead - changed hands again with a two for Scotland, before Switzerland levelled the scores in the eighth end.
A blank ninth end set up a tense finish, but the Scots held their nerve to come out on top in an epic encounter.
Mouat celebrated on the ice with teammates Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan after he curled a stone into the middle of the house to take the title.
"Amazing, it's been an interesting season," Mouat said.
"We have had some amazing highs and lows but this is the highest of the highs. It's top tier, I have described it as like Wimbledon for us.
"Playing in Canada is unbelievable, the crowds you get. I can't do this without the others. They work so hard and I love those guys to bit."
Dean Lewington, MK Dons' record appearance holder, is to stop playing for the club at the end of the season.
The left-back has made 915 appearances for the club over 22 years, breaking John Trollope's 40-year record for the most league appearances for a single club in the EFL in 2023.
The 40-year-old, son of former England assistant manager Ray, won promotion three times with the Dons, as well as winning a league and cup double in 2007-08.
He has not played since November, becoming an interim boss three times. The club say he now wants to move into coaching permanently.
Lewington has been playing for the club for so long that he made his debut for Wimbledon in 2003, before they relocated to Milton Keynes.
He has been a regular in Dons sides ever since, starting 779 of his 789 league appearances for the club.
As MK Dons' longest-serving player, Lewington was involved in many of the club's most notable moments, beating Grimsby Town to win the EFL Trophy at Wembley in 2008, beating Manchester United 4-0 in the League Cup in 2014 and winning promotion to the Championship in 2015.
He is fifth on the all-time list of most appearances in the EFL with 815 - but has only played three games this season.
He has been seen leading the team on the touchline, named as interim manager three times in the past.
However, he was not been part of the management structure after Scott Lindsey left the club.
Lindsey had denied a rift with Lewington before his departure in March.
"I want to support Dean to try to find out what his journey looks like next - there's only so many coaches can be employed by one team, but I would never say never," Lindsey had said.
"He's trying to help me, help the squad as much as he can, but also help himself in terms of finding out what his next path looks like and we're here to support that obviously."
The club now say Lewington is going to learn his badges and look to become a coach permanently, adding there will be a special "send-off" at their final home game against Grimsby on 26 April.
The Bible In Basic English (also known as the BBE) is a translation of the Bible into Basic English. The BBE was translated by Professor S. H. Hooke using the standard 850 Basic English words. 100 words that were helpful to understand poetry were added along with 50 "Bible" words for a total of 1,000 words. This version is effective in communicating the Bible to those with limited education or where English is a second language. The New Testament was released in 1941 and the Old Testament was released in 1949.
The 1965 printing of the Bible was published by Cambridge Press in England without any copyright notice and distributed in the US, falling into the Public Domain according to the UCC convention of that time.

However all of these fell foul due to practical and technological difficulties, as well as lack of funding and a lack of understanding of conditions at the wreck site.

Haydon Roberts scored a 95th-minute winner for Bristol City as they moved up to fifth in the Championship with a 2-1 win against play-off rivals West Brom at Ashton Gate.
Nahki Wells gave the Robins the lead early in the second-half, with a rocket of a shot from the edge of the area into the bottom-right corner.
Alex Mowatt equalised for the Baggies six minutes later, pouncing on a mishap between City keeper Max O'Leary and Cameron Pring for an easy shot into an empty net behind them.
The Baggies then saw Jayson Molumby sent off for a late challenge on Joe Williams in the 89th minute and substitute Roberts clinched the winner with less than 90 seconds left on the clock in extra time.
Bristol City move six points clear of their opponents, who remain outside the top six in eighth, and hold a four-point advantage on Coventry City in seventh who face Portsmouth on Wednesday.
Runaway League One leaders Birmingham City sealed promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt with six games to spare thanks to victory at Peterborough.
Posh's Kwame Poku put the party on hold when he equalised three minutes after Alfie May had put the visitors ahead.
But Taylor Gardner-Hickman restored Blues' lead eight minutes before the interval with what turned out to be the winner.
Big-spending City, relegated last season, are 14 points clear of second-placed Wrexham and now cannot be caught by third-placed Wycombe, despite the Chairboys' win at Huddersfield.
They have led the table for most of the campaign - boss Chris Davies' first season in management - and have achieved their expected promotion at a canter.
With the travelling fans in celebratory mood, May opened the scoring by heading in Gardner-Hickman's excellent ball in from the left.
Poku then thumped Posh level from near the edge of the penalty area after Birmingham could only half-clear a corner.
But Gardner-Hickman sealed the win and promotion by firing under keeper Nicholas Bilokapic from the left side of the box after collecting Marc Leonard's pass.
Birmingham have only spent five seasons in English football's third tier in their history.
Just as they did the last time they won promotion from that level, under Barry Fry 30 years ago, they have done it at the first time of asking.
It was somehow fitting that Fry, who turned 80 on Monday, was there to see them do it, as Peterborough's long-serving director of football.
The government is considering nationalising British Steel as fears grow among ministers that the company's blast furnaces in Scunthorpe could run out of raw materials within days.
A new Universal theme park will be built in the UK, the government has confirmed.
It will be constructed on the site of the former Kempston Hardwick brickworks near Bedford and is expected to generate 28,000 jobs before it opens in 2031.
Universal estimated the 476-acre complex could attract 8.5 million visitors in its first year and generate £50bn for the UK economy by 2055.
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said the muti-billion-pound investment by the company would "see Bedford home to one of the biggest entertainment parks in Europe, firmly putting the county on the global stage".
Universal Destinations and Experience said 80% of those employed in the new jobs will be from Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas.
Universal, which produced films such as Minions and Wicked, currently has theme parks in Orlando and Los Angeles in the US, as well as Osaka, Japan, Sentosa, Singapore, and Beijing, China.
The park will be the first Universal-branded destination in Europe.
Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport Lisa Nandy said: "This landmark investment is fantastic news for our economy, for UK tourism and for the British public, who will be able to enjoy the biggest and best theme park in Europe on their doorstep."
A full planning proposal will be submitted to the UK government with construction expected to start in 2026.
