Worst transfers ever?

Manc,

I'm not saying he's been exceptional. He's had some quality moments and others where he's looked shaky. For example Gomes was a laughing stock when he first joined spurs in 08/09, yet he was quality at the back end of 09/10. De gea has quality but hasn't found the consistency

And how Reina is beyond scrutiny is beyond me.

Another keeper who is an excellent shot stopper but makes countless mistakes every game.

Atleast De Gea can do the cryuff turn

Can you hand on Heart say Degea has produced world class displays? Not individual saves but displays since joining?

this isn't an article about scrutiny of players

It's an article, based on preformance to date (not future potential) of transfers who are compared to the fee and hype around the signing

that's all

Many games our defence doesnt help him.

Im not saying De Gea is better than Hart, but Hart is seriously over rated.

Cech is much better overall IMO.

Not yet but that doesn't mean he never will. Believe me I'm no man united fan, infact I hate them, I probably celebrated as much as most when agueroooooooooo did the business but there's an arguement that Milner and balotelli haven't delivered many world class performances in their time at city despite their price tags

I asked you has Degea put in any world class performances, your defence isn't the issue the level of performance your keeper can put in is.

How many world class performances could you say he's produced?

For joe harts price tag coupled with performances he has to be one of the best signings ever.

Degea no way near a good value signing so far.

I'm not saying he won't be a great signing in the future but as it stands he's not.

Agreed! We will soon be rid of him and I don't see us losing money on him.

Milner is a valuable member of the team an easily worth the 16 million we paid for him.

Im sure he can command a nice fee, he has the talent. But will he get a similar wage/will city have to make up the difference?

Can I while thinking about City add Robhinio?

We lost 8 on robinyho who was fourth highest goals scorer in his first season and injured a long spell of his second season.

Not value for money but hardly a flop.

City won't be subsidising his wages if we sell him why would we.

posted on 23/1/13

I would be surprised if moving to Italy they would be willing to match his current wage which is a reported 170k a week!

Didn't the difference in offered and current wage snag a move for Tevez out of the club a while back?

£16m? Wasn't it nearer the £24m mark?

No it was 16 million pound cash an Ireland an accademy player who cost us nothing.

Fellani, did pienar get a bigger wage at spurs when he joined? Did he stay on that wage when he returned to Everton or take a pay cut?

Your going to have to help me there that makes no sense.

Loz coming back to your point De Gea has put some amazing performances in.

As for the defence it matters a lot, they are his protection and if it wasnt for his saves quite often we would be 4 or 5 nil down.

Hart has a very good defence in front of him, when in Europe he was found out for the keeper he was when your defence was easily found out.

I have no idea what his wage at Spurs was, he was taking about 30k when he left and now is on more like 50k

Much, much less than 170k

Amazing isn't world class is it.

Hart withstood a hell of a bombardment because we played the wrong formation and came up against a class team like Dortmund.

Hart came away with the plaudits he deserved, he has time an again put in top drawer performances against the likes of spurs arsenal Real Madrid Liverpool "ask any Liverpool fan about anfield last season" Dortmund an so on.

De gea who cost over 16 times more hasn't come anywhere near that level of performance so by comparison is a bad buy as it stands.

Loz you dont watch us so your clearly talking balls again.

De Gea has put in some world class performances and as I said due to the manager's tinkering we would concede 4 or 5 more if it wasnt for his shot stopping ability.

Just because Hart shouts at his defence doesnt mean he is better.

In Europe he was found out, didnt know what to do because his defence didnt protect him. The Real game all 3 goals were his fault but no one mentioned that because he is English.

This isnt about De Gea being better, but Hart actually being a very over rated keeper.

I would put the whole of cities back four up for the "bloody good value for money signings" argument.

Joe hart has to be the best value keeper in the league.

600,000 pounds ffs.

No doubt Hart for me is up with the very best in the world
