We beat Everton at home nd Wigan away last season
Can see that happening agin this year
Sorry just re-read
You mean we lost all four reverse fixtures earlier this season?
Everton and City away, we were unlucky conceding in the last few mins. Wigan we were terrible until they scored midway during the second half. Chelsea was a good game and again played well until Walker messed up in the last 5mins
We will beat Everton and Wigan no probs, maybe scab a 1-0 or a 1-1 against city and probably loose against Chelsea
Yes but Wigan did beat us at Home this season, and they always seem to perform brilliantly at the final stages of the season. Everton are also playing extremely well and only have the PL on which to concentrate.
You cannot doubt that these games are going to be immensely difficult.
what is the reason to be concerned?
we are just past the half way stage so we have to play most teams again (as does everyone else), therefore it means that the other months will be on paper a bit easier anyway.
plus after those games we have quite a nice run in tbh.
It was something I noticed when the fixtures were released.
Not too concerned at the moment, still more than 2 months away and who knows what sort of run we'll be on then? Also worth noting that our key players were knackered/off form last season towards the business end, here's hoping AVB rotates the squad and keeps everyone fresh and involved
Because we have form of stuffing things up in the final stages of the season! Other than the season in which we secured CL football, the last two seasons have a lot less to be desired.
we are a totally different side to the last two seasons. different manager and coaching staff and half the team has changed.
and if we mess it up and come fifth then we mess it up and come fifth.
we will finish in the position we deserve to finish, so not point worrying about it.
i can guarantee that the FA won't be switching the fixtures around because we don't like our April schedule (which actually could be far far worse)
HSHAH
Arry had a record if stuffing up the last two seasons
AVB wont do the same
Just make sure you beat the berties.
If we dont sign the striker we desperately need it might be over by April anyway
Yes i do hope it is different, but I seem to remember well that in the final stages of the two previous seasons we did in face create a significant number of chances and failed to convert!
thats spurs though.
we don't actually create that many good quality clear cut chances.
lots of half chances and long shots
Chronic
If we have a good FA cup run then one if those will get bumped anyway
Also with so much of the season to go, there are still big hurdles for our rivals. Off the top of my head....
Arsenal vs Liverpool
Arsenal vs man united
Arsenal vs Everton
Spurs vs arsenal
Man city vs Chelsea
Liverpool vs Chelsea
Chelsea vs Everton
Man united vs Chelsea
Sorry but the only game that i feel we will lose in that group is Chelsea away. I think we can beat City and Everton at home. I also definetly think we will beat Wigan away.
This is a massive month and you're right mate it'll prob be the difference between qualifying for CL or not
Its a big month with big fixtures, but when we see we are drawn against the likes of City, Everton and Chelsea ...they will be equally concerned, we can beat anyone on our day.
and as said above, due to the rotation of AVB, and his attention to every minute detail of training and tactics, i think we will finish stronger than we started - one concern is Midfield: Parker and Dembele will have to play every game, especially if Livermore goes
Apparently Livermores going nowhere mate, he should be ok against some of the lesser sides tho I'd say
"Is anyone else concerned by our fixtures in April?"
Nope.
The squad will have to be on their game. Much like in 2010.
The last two seasons were comparatively easier run-ins.
And we know how they turned out.
