I'm sure that George appreciates that neither the Forest management or the Forest fans are to blame for this fiasco.
Our Chairman wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn't beat around the bush when commenting on issues and communicating with the Posh fans, and we wouldn't change him for the world. You will note that all his statements are directed at the owners of your club and not the people who support it.
Plus he is 500K down when he was spending it.
Trying to sell a crock is terrible behaviour; should be reported to the FA!
Palar$e will take him now anyway

Strett....I make a point of never arguing with a member of the flat earth society.
You have a nice day.
We don't actually know what the problem with his sight is. Just because the Peterborough owner is saying not quite 20/20, doesn't necessarily mean that he is just a bit short sighted. The medical may have turned up a potentially serious problem, which may affect his ability to play, but medical confidentiality would prevent a statement being made about it.
Under those circumstances it would be entirely appropriate to offer to take him on loan, until further tests could be carried out.
After the initial furore, I think there is reasonable grounds to give the owners the benefit of the doubt here. These guys are new to English football, and perhaps the issue that came up in the eye test wasn't so straight forward that they felt uncormfortable parting with £500,000 on whim, because apparently it's the `English way` to overlook things like that. If it's normal protocol to conduct an eye test, why is it such a scandal to want to renegotiate a deal when the eye test reveals something that may possibly undermine their investment? Don't forget, that the owners probably don't know who George Boyd is, and it is debatable whether or not he is any better than what we've got, especially considering that Radi, who plays a similar role, has just signed a new 3 and a bit year contract. What is the point in an eye test in the first place if the result don't matter? Surely there are grounds for renegotiating any deal if something comes up that hasn't previously been mentioned, and why wasn't it mentioned? It would make you wonder what else was wrong? The owners are new to the game here and are probably as wary of cretins within the game trying to rip them off as we are of them.
Think about it.
HE FAILED HIS MEDICAL!!!!!!!
If a dodgy ligament or knee had been picked up no one would be complaining.
What is the problem here????
Of course their owner is pîssed off - he's a million quid down!!!! He thought so highly of Boyd that he let him go?!? And now he's bleating on about fairness and honour.
What should the doctor carrying out the medical have done?? He reported his findings.
What should the owners have done? Ignore the experts???
It's like getting told by a highly qualified mechanic not to buy a shiny car because the engines broken - and buying it anyway!!!!

At last someone with some sense!!!!
Ignorance is bliss - at the City Ground. Five stars for the apology, though.
Yeah ...Nobby Stiles had the same problem and he achieved sod all!

It's not just this latest incident, though, is it. If the only thing that had happened was a player hadn't been signed because of an eye test, I probably wouldn't be concerned. But what have the owners done in the last month and a half that hasn't been shambolic? I really think they're clueless.

Thorney, surely it's it's better to admit ignorance than to pretend otherwise? In the long run, you're less likely to make a fool of yourself.
Strett, Lefty - Let's hope common sense prevails!!
Still hate ^^^^^
Resigning dex & raddi!!!! How's that for a start!!
Jara & ward.....
Backing AM's decision to boot camp out....
This has been our best January ever!!! (I know that's not saying much). So come on, stop being so quick to point the finger. Get off OUR owners backs. Stop siding with everyone else's!!!
also, stillhate, it's not actually that much of an issue really is it? How stupid would our owners look, if they signed a player for £500,000 with a deteriorating eye condition that they were told about but didn't question??
anyone heard of the old FM trick of agreeing a deal that you can't afford or have no intention of completing, purely to stop the player from joining another club, only to agree a free transfer 3 months later after their contract has expired?
Our best January ever? With one win and a squad full of holes? Resigning Dex is good, yes. Raddi, too - although we have 4000 centre mids, so not that fussed. Jara's good, but he's another loan signing that we'll lose in the summer. Along with half the squad. Ward is average at best. We've got a useless manager. And Boyd is hardly Stevie Wonder is he. Blind men don't tend to score from 50 yards. I'm sorry for being concerned that people may be ruining the club I've followed for 28 years.

What it probably turned up was your club's inability to pay.
That plus denying a 'promotion rival' ( ) the opportunity to sign the player, whilst then having the audacity to put in a loan bid. I bet Fawaz actually had a straight face when he did that too. The best conmen always do.
"promotion rival"
We won't get promoted and neither will Palace
Ps. I am genuinely gutted for Boyd though. I hope it / he gets whatever it is sorted so he can move on.
I don't think it will be with us, but good luck to him !!
