In all my time supporting Arsenal I honestly (actual real life honestly, rather than something people say on the internet as a way to aggregate the point they're making) cannot recall one player being the focus of so much discussion, especially considering he's not even on the pitch for so much of the time.

I'm so tired of talking about Mesut facking Ozil, and yet I feel compelled to ask... how was leaving him out of the match day squad last night 'tactical'?

The only tactic that could be behind it would be a long game strategy to freeze him out altogether, hoping it forces him to move next window. But that sounds like a tactic being imposed upon the manager, rather than something he's dreamt up himself. And we had that with the previous guy, and Ozil won out.

So what then?

The problem has been the same for the last 4 years. We have spent a lot of money on some very useless ageing foreign players on huge salaries. Then suffered a huge income drop by being out of the Champions League.

This is what happens to clubs that are relegated after being established in the premier league for a few years. They need to come back as quickly as possible or it becomes a long term project. Wenger and Emery wasted too much time. Now we look for quick solutions when none exist. We'll have to go through the pain of a rebuild.

We have to win all our remaining games and hope City will be out of the CL next season.
