Odegaard is in my view the most important player in this Arsenal team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't disagree? Rice has been a great signing alongside him, Partey looks less than he did at his peak and Jorghino can be an asset but maybe a player to solidify the CM alongside Rice and Odegaard?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Expect Partey to leave in the summer to be honest.
Bruno Guimares from Newcastle could be a replacement.

Yeh he's looked more than decent but wonder what the cost would be? Him alongside Rice and Odegaard would be a good combo

De Jong can do a similar job at about half his price. So I would keep an eye on that as well.

It looked like he twisted his dodgy ankle. rolling down that hill. Not that worried tbh. We should be able to beat Everton if he has further tweaked his ankle ligaments.

I don't feel like this was a gameplan today, but I do think having a great defensive shape and set up is the result of everything Arteta has built here so it's not exactly lucky or anything.
Partey one is weird, looks like we're planning to keep him but he's not really showing enough of what he can do

We've taken the title race a step further this year and although unconvincing in the CL we went out to a powerhouse in a very marginal way. It's what I wanted at the least from the season so even if we fall short I'll take it as a good season and trust that we'll go another level and win it next year.

Thats our gameplan against all the bigger teams away. We scored 3 goals against Spurs but most of the rest of the time we got back into shape to counter attack.
Not sure why you got the impression we are planning to keep Partey?
posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago
Just from the things Arteta has said and the fact he's put him back in ahead of Jorginho despite not being amazing. I guess you could say he's putting him in the shop window, but personally it feels like now that Havertz has established himself as a forward we're gonna spend big on another CM this summer and keep Partey, Rice and Jorgi for the DM role and look to strengthen there next year.
I may be wrong though obviously
posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago
Partey has been good since he got back into the team. This game was tough for him, but we didn't concede and I don't blame him for the obvious tactics or nerves. Rice was quite anonymous in that midfield as well. I felt Jorginho had run out of legs a while ago and obviously Arteta thinks the same.
Partey only has a season left on his contract, and there hasn't been any reports of a negotiation, which you'd expect if he was staying.

You never know? With any club I follow all I ever want I'd progession and development and Arsenal have certainly had that, to be fair for ALL EPL clubs coming up against a team like City will be tough so to even be tie to toe with them is impressive
posted 3 weeks, 4 days ago
Had a poor start till he got up to pace. Was solid at White hart lane. I suppose ran a bit out of legs today and looked old. Which is why I don't think Arteta would want to keep two players who can't start and last a season.

Partey physically is so shot. I want to see Rice back in no 5 role, he’s been good at no 6, but I really do think in big games we ought to put Rice deeper. CL games exposed his lack of depth in no 6. In summer get a proper CM whose main skillset is to get the passing going, like a young Jorginho.
