Not a Tottenham fan but good luck tonight I always enjoy watching you play, it's high tempo end to end entertainment.
--------
shhhhhhh..
they will hear you.
we are negative and boring according to a number of people on here
Chronic,
He wouldnt have had to "rot on the bench", he should have got minutes anyway.
When Bale didnt play against Chelsea, and we were crying out for a winger to sort out the problematic left side, Townsend still didnt get a look in.
I thought we had a good rotation policy this season. If we had, Townsend would have, & should have, got games.
Now we need a winger - and could have done with one against Liverpool - our cover is playing games at another club. Sounds daft when you put it like that doesnt it?
Sending Townsend on loan was a great decision. He will improve so much because of it.
He barely got a look in when he was at Spurs, and wasn't making much progress.
He will come back a useful player, like Walker and Caulker after they gained prem experience.
Chronic
thats not much to hang on to considering your performance this season. werent we meant to be mid table by now under AVB?
=================
No, i said we wouldnt get 4th, or better last season, which neither has been hit yet - so i'd say all "our performances" are pretty much still up in the air, to be fair.
chicken.
i have been banging on for signing wing replacements for about 4 seasons now. so you are preaching to the wrong man.
however, the loan move to qpr will be to the long term benefit of townsend (and thus us), and i am sure we will reap the rewards of this next season.
the fact that we have no QUALITY like for like wing replacement is down to a succession of managers/levy not addressing it.
I think Falque will also come back raring to go Another player who I think has a future at the club.
Townsend should have been used more this season but hopefully he will play in every game for QPR and come back better for it, i want him to start pushing Lennon and Bale or whoever plays on the left.
Chronic,
you are arguing yourself into a circle and a tangle again
=====================
And you seem to be contradicting your praising, defending & criticisms of all eventualities to suit.

exactly.
its all about the short term though apparantly
lets cry because we dont have tonight v inter, when we are 3-0 up, even though he could come back next season he could be good enough to play a major part and score us 10 goals for example

------
not really.
rather just defending someone when they need defending, and criticising when they need criticising.
nobody is immune to either

Ridiculous decision to send Townsend on loan. Said it at the time
------
indeed.
instead of having him at QPR playing every minute and getting good so he is ready for the first team, we should have him rotting on our bench with the occasional ten minute cameo
----------
He didn't play at Southampton, and there was no guarantee he'd play all the time at QPR.
By that logic we should have sent Parker, Hudd and Livermore out too - they'd be rotting on the bench with Sandro and Dembele our CMs.
Perhaps we should have sent Gallas and Caulker out too
I can see Townsend playing every game from QPR as there current crop of players are not upto the mark.
Tonight is probably the first time Townsend would have started if available. I doubt he would even have come on as sub much as Holtby is now 1st reserve.
In the meantime he's been QPR's best player over the last 6 weeks. I would say the QPR loan is much better for spurs as short-term as next season when he returns.
Hrh. Yes but Townsend will improve with a loan deal whereas Parker an hudd probably wouldn't.
I'm a big advocate of loaning the youngsters out. However, when you have just two realistic wide-midfield options it's madness.
He'd probably have played as much as Caulkerhas since Jan...nobody would have loaned him out though
Chicken boring everyone again i see...
Wish I was there tonight
Let's hope Lennon stays fit until May played 41 games already
happy with tonights team. i think we will go through without to many worries
