Gazza do we really make that much money from shirt sales though ?

I heard that the actual revenue from shirt sales at any club was overexagerated as a good income source.

With Falcao going to Monaco I think that the likelihood of Torres staying at Chelsea for at least another season has greatly increased.

Any opportunity for Torres to be used in a deal for Falcao now appears to be over.

We wont be keeping Torres because he sells shirts

Fair enough Gazza.

One thing that Torres does have is worldwide appeal. In the far east he is a megastar for some reason.

He was absolutely swamped by Japanese fans during the CWC.

Agreed. Although it does appear that Torres will be a Chelsea player next season.

All the rumours about him leaving Chelsea this summer have died and Torres says he wants to stay.

Torres holds all the cards as he still have 3 years left on his contract.

It would be fascinating to see what Jose does with him although I can only see problems between the two of them in truth.

Roman buys all the Torres tops secretly like the CPO shares

I have just got a feeling that Mourhino just won't fancy him, or trying to resurrect him. Would rather a ready-made fit.

In the USA as well, Torres is the third most popular as a name on the back of a shirt in the PL.

Does anyone think that Jose and Torres at Chelsea would work ?

I´m not saying it wouldn´t but am interested to hear people´s opinions.

It has to work or Jose's toast

He is never going to be good enough again to be a first choice striker for a team that wants to win the PL, but his price tag can't justify him being anything else, and of course he won't accept being no2 or no3 striker either.

Therefore the sensible thing is to sell him, especially as on paper he scored a few goals this season which means we could get 20m for him.

I think Jose would like to work with Torres we are at the satge with him that there is no benifit in selling him and he would be worth keeping on the bench much like Kaka at real madrid

One of the problems is Torres is still our 2nd highest shirt seller so he still brings in substantial revenue to offset his wages.

Fans are fickle, we sign a bog name player and they become the biggest shirt seller.

Gazza I get you.

Superb, Jose will not tolerate Torres's.. how shall I put it.. crapness? in front of goal. He will want a goalscorer.

I think i saw an interview where Jose was saying how many points Drogba is worth to a PL campaign, if that is how Jose thinks, then how the feck is he going to want Torres?
