Is that what they're calling it? The Xbox one?
Yeah bloodred.
Xbox seems to have pretty much everything. Now with AMD chip, the games will probably be better than PS4 ones.
But the PS4 full event will be on 10th June, I'm sure they've got something very good to rival the new Xbox. It's core features look good too.
I'll tell u what - i wont be buying either till the 'slim' version comes out. Probably ps4 though

Xbox won't have to be always connected to the internet.
Problem is they seemed to have changed always on and cant play second hand games to can play second hand games but you need to pay to do so - and absolutely no lending to friends/family. Again this needs to be confirmed.
Why are they killing the second hand market?
They've already killed the pirating market last time round!
Next gen they will kill discs all together, and only allow digital downloads! We need to put a stop to this.
Also no answer about 2nd hand games or always on.
-------------
Think they have said you can play second hand games. Both consoles wont be backwards compatible but you will be able to pay for d/l versions. Also the always on connection has be denied.
Think i'll be picking up the xbox one over the ps4, though it all depends on pricing.
If you can't play pre owned games then the big companies like Game will suffer surely.
You will be able to play pre owned games. Or am I missing something?
Xbox has DDR3, Ps4 has GDDR5
Glad I have a PC, can't be bothered with this console crap anymore
Again unconfirmed - but what has been said is you can play pre owned games but there is an activation fee to do so. To activate a game you need an internet connection. Your system can go 24hours before it needs to go online, and you can take a disc to a friends but you need to sign in with your account (as the game will be associated with that account).
Unless the IPs are amazing though i am still leaning towards the PS4 as it seems the less hassle out the 2 for potentially the same system and games - and i also prefer Bungie over EA
Dont see the big deal with the always on connection, surely most people have wifi in their home?
Chu the big deal is for a couple of reasons - 1) It doesnt improve the system in anyway shape or form, like the 360 and PS3 before it neither require a connection to work. 2) You are also under the belief that the all the regions that you talk about all have decent net connections all the time, which they dont, a problem with Europeans and Americans is the assumption that everywhere as internet. Basically if M$ go ahead with this then they will be only selling to western Europe and the US and they will loose huge markets in the Americas, Asia and the Oceania which quite frankly is stupid for something that isnt NEEDED!
I found the Xbox reveal to be fairly awful and that was before the big bombshells that were dropped afterwards regarding the fees to play your game on another console and the needing to be online once every 24 hours.
Microsoft are obviously not passionate about gaming and have used the whole Xbox project to get the likes of Internet Explorer, Kinect, Netflix etc into as many living rooms as possible. I wasn't particularly all that impressed by the PS4 reveal either but at least they seem primarily focused on delivering games as their main focus.
One thing I will say is that Sony have been a bit vague about a few details so don't be too surprised if they end up having a similar pre-owned policy as well as it would be shocking to me if Microsoft went down that route by themselves.
Going to wait and see what sony are doing with pre-owned games.
If they go down same route as microsoft, I'll save myself £400 and not buy either.
Simon cheers for answering my question.
I see what you mean with regards to the global market sales. However being selfish this wouldnt effect me if I were to purchase the xbox one.
Dont worry mate was something i always took for granted until i emigrated, then it hit me that the UK and US are at the top of the ladder for things like net coverage etc, so easy to forget less than 10 years ago when some parts of the UK was still on dial up.
In all fairness it wont affect me 98% of the time, but i am looking at a job in which i may be flying to NY on a regular basis for 1 week stints with work, now before when i have done this i have taken my console with me and lets be honest i am not paying $50 for a weeks worth of net access in my room just so i can do my daily log in to play my games that i have bought and wish to play in peace. Dont get me wrong i could come up with an easy solution - set my phone up as a wifi point, but at the end of the day i shouldnt need to do that, and just imagine if the zombie apocolypse happens in December or M$ servers get hacked ala Sony. To many ifs and buts for me at the moment, but hopefully we will get some answers in a couple of weeks
XBox One makes sense as a name. Just like PS One, Two, Three. It's logical.
If you can't play second-hand games on XBox One, then why would anyone want to buy it? I just hope PS4 isn't doing the same.
Also, I don't trust anything that has 'Microsoft' on it.
WiiU will dominate now.

I wont be bothering with either. New xbox has so much guff on it i wouldn't use. I just want a good games console, and if you cant play 2nd hand or borrow a mates game then it's failed already for me.
I've taken to stockpiling 360 games, will have a large back catalogue to go through instead of getting a new console. Already collected about 20 really good games cheap I never got round to playing when they first come out. Should keep me going for awhile
I think the graphics are as good as they need to get at the moment, I like my video games to look like video games, I think you gain and lose something when the games start to look too real
Simon I'm not sure how you can have any opinions on the games from cutscenes alone. All we can basically go off of is the tech/physical side of the console, the features and possibly the game titles. Everything else is hype at the moment. Looking forward to some gameplay footage....from anything.
I bought a PS3 as soon as it came out. Apart from the games being less playable than the PS2, it also broke within 4 years.
Someone informed me that the first batches of new consoles are rushed and tend to break quicker than ones which come out a year later.
So I'll wait at least a year before getting a PS4, by which time some effort would have been put into the games.
Well RTM on the game front it is easy, Sony showed close to 30minutes of footage from all different IPs, M$ showed us a trailer for CoD..........quite an easy one that.
myhammers its not they are rushed it is that unknown problems occur that will only be found from mass usage and then its only a small percentage - i got my 360 on day 1 and it didnt red ring for 6 years, most my friends that i know of had no problems either.
