Hmmm... with all those quotes we might as well get to the bookies and put money on it
If it came from the Sun or something I wouldn't pay attention to it either, but I like the Guardian.
As i've said before, would be an ideal signing.
him and Thiago of Barca would make our midfield great, add Carrick to that and we'd have 3 top midfielders and decent back up players.
Carrick, Thiago and Fellaini. That is football manager stuff, and would rival many midfields in Europe.
I find the Guardian relatively reputable on news but I'm sceptical about these early stories about Moyes' supposed transfer plans. For one thing, he is still the Everton manager and whatever he is doing in preparation for his new job, I doubt he is actively at helm at United yet. And if he is considering bringing Fellaini to United, I'd doubt this would be making the kind of 'noise' most transfers create and media outlets pick up on. He presumably isn't chairing meetings at OT on the subject. As Everton manager he has access to Fellaini and can speak to him discretely. It is an unusual position in which Moyes is at both ends of the supply chain and not in a position right now to be speaking to either his current or imminent employer about the matter. It's not in Moyes' interests to tell the world about it and potentially he is the only person who knows right now.
People were saying they wouldn’t pay more than 20m for Modric so I wouldn’t expect to pay any more for Fellaini. What about his Belgium team mate Defour? Apparently there was lots of interest until he broke his leg a season or so ago?
Just to add to post above i can't actually see Utd signing both but i would love it.
I actually still can't see us signing any midfielders. It's been so long since we last did.
One down two to go, modric and shaw next and i'm happy.
Shaw would be a very good successor to Patrice, but we have to evaluate Fabio first. Is he going to be a squad player or not? Moyes has his work cut out.
Shaw looks to me a decent winger, he's certainly better going forward than defending. But he is only 17.

Fellaini is one player i don not want at utd.
24 million for a dirty cheating barsteward is not my idea of good buisness.
there are players out there far better and far cheaper.
Carrick and Fellaini partnership would ultimately mean very less mobility and consequently resulting in us sitting very deep and inviting opposition to attack us especially if Rio and Vidic are in defence
I'm not sure Fellaini would be a particularly good signing, he looks top class some games then others he struggles to even control the ball, if he comes and i'm proved wrong i won't be complaining though.
As for Baines, we don't need him, Evra has had a brilliant season, every inch as good as Baines and is only a couple of years older. If we want to replace him we should either promote from with in or maybe go for Luke Shaw although there are a lot of teams sniffing around him at the moment.
Evra has had a brilliant season,
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Erm not really. May have improved over the last couple of seasons but is easily our weakest link in defence still.
Bruce, the article states that Moyes isn't interested in Baines.
Need a bit of 'tough' in MF...'Felloverme' suits!

My thoughts exactly. People seem to think different.
How has Tyler Blackett done for the reserves this season? I always had higher hopes for him making it then Fryers
Off topic a bit, but Monaco's webiste have confirmed two great signings. One was a big target of ours

rvp,
for that 60 million we could have pretty much completed our squad by signing them.
to me though it shows a lack of ambition by the players who have moved just for the money.
Monaco will compete for CL in a couple of years
I know Dunc, I'm certain the young Rodriguez was a United target for months. Now I have no idea who we should get in for our left midfield. It's crap
Fellaini would be a massive improvement on Cleverley and Anderson.
Though I see the points about being less mobile as Carrick and Fellaini would be real slow and static. Perhaps with 3 mobile AM / Wingers in front would offset that.
