for that 60 million we could have pretty much completed our squad by signing them.
to me though it shows a lack of ambition by the players who have moved just for the money.

I understand the world we live in, not the bubble you clearly are in. No one gives a damn anymore. No one really did before. We happened to be the highest payers before and players came to us. For a while it was the italians and they got all the players. Now people go to freaking city instead of us. The amount of people to come to united because of our history in the last 20 years can be counted on one hand. Do not delude yourself. RVP, Berbatov, half a dozen of Dortmunds team could earn more elsewhere, Bale could earn more elsewhere.
All of these players stay at clubs or move to clubs because they feel it will benefit their careers more.

Lol... The upgrade from 80,000 too 200,000 was such a step back. Only made him THE HIGHEST PAID PLAYER AT THE CLUB.  Fellaini would be a massive improvement on Cleverley and Anderson. 
Though I see the points about being less mobile as Carrick and Fellaini would be real slow and static
