£49 million
Is it just me or does anyone think real football is getting like champ manager?
£17 million for Jesus Navas, the wee Kant has hardly done anything in his career, what justifies that fee?
Neymar is a cracking talent, no question but c'mon to fluck, £49 million for a 21 year old?
What is Messi worth? It must be about £200 million
Would rather watch Nicky Clark and Jon Daly
any time ive seen neymar he has unconvincing
how many times have we heard this is new pele or marandona
in years gone by we have had from south america
denilson, saviola, adriano, d'allessandro etc who have all been given mass praise but never really jit the big time
i think neymar will fall into that category
Messi is the exception, not the rule
Jesus Navas will end up getting home sick.. he refused to travel to Spains away games over the past few years because he gets it bad
I personally dont agree that he's worth 17mil
Homesick
It must just be Scottish people who can't wait to get away from the country
i heard that on talksport this morning, homesick when he goes outaside seville
FFS man up
i heard leighton baines was like that for a while aswel.
Gutted he didn't come to an English team, as would see a lot more of him . Plus I fkn hate boring barca
Saw Neymar against England and he failed to impress, Rooney was streets ahead....in that game.
He would get booted up and down the park in the Premiership.
Plus I don't think he would fancied the weather
Didn't stop likes of Oscar coming here tho. Ill be honest, I can't stand barca. They are like united of the 90s.
how are they like utd of the 90's?
i dont like them because they expect teams to just roll over when they play them, its all handshakes and cuddles at full time when they spank someone 5-0, yet when they dont get their own way, their revered players start diving, cheating and waving kiddy on yellows to ref etc
they have a $hite support aswel
aye they have $hite support aswell .... average attendance of £73,864
minius the £ sign .. never ment that
when barca are doing well they pack out the nou camp
when they are pash its half empty,
they got knocked out of CL once at group stages and their last home game v barca, there was 35k, most of them were geordies
I'm linking an article/blog by Andy Brassell which is worth a read on this - it's more about Barca's transfer policy (failures) than Neymar as such but obviously is influenced by the fact he's moved there.

An attendance in pounds??
Seriously though, having been to the Nou Camp for matchday, I was surprised by the lack of atmosphere.
There was a small section where the fans were starting chants, but by and large it was families and small kids, and tourists who were in the ground.
I've been to much smaller grounds and had a far better experience
Quality > Quantity
As for Neymar, I hate how people assume a footballer has to play in Europe before they get any real recognition. Many people giving the signing pelters already.
Granted, the fee is astronomical, but the guy is an immense talent.
The difference between him and Messi, is that Messi keeps the ball closer to his feet, while Neymar plays with the ball a little further away from his feet, but has the skill to get it back in tight situations if he loses it.
Playing with Messi and learning some close control will only make him an infinitely better player
I would compare Neymar to Ronaldo (the fannybaw one) at this stage.
All the natural ability and skill in the world, but still has plenty to learn about how to use it.
I think he's going to prove a great signing personally.
The Nou Camp is quite possibly the worst ground for atmosphere I have ever been in.
As for Neymar he is a talent so if he keeps his head he will do well.
pele aside, all the greatest ever players played in europe, the biggest and best teams in the world are based in europe
the CL is the best club competition in the world so yeah i think its ok to state that a player has to make it in europe before gettin the ott praise that neymar currently gets
Historically, European clubs PAYED more money in wages - that is the only reason everyone played in Europe over the years.
Now that Brazil, the US, Japan, China, the Middle East, Russia can all pay the same or more, does it mean we'll start seeing more good players going there - yes it does. Does it mean they're no good just because they're playing in those leagues? Hardly....
People slate the SPL, but who would argue about the ability of Larsson or Laudrup?
european football is the pinnacle of football and success
Monaco can pay more in wages for falcao, does that mean they are bigger or better than a man utd or ajax? of course not
Every league at one point has had world class players ply there trade in it, doesnt mean its good overall
Well, lets look at it like this;
Brazil have won more world cups than any other nation.
Historically, some of the best players in the world in almost every era have been Brazilian, be it Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Pele, Romario, Ronaldinho, Jairzinho etc etc etc
Most of them played in Europe at some point...were they good players BECAUSE they came to Europe, or were they good players anyway who were bought by European teams who were able to offer them more money?
Now that a handful of Brazilian clubs are cash-rich, why do Brazilians need to leave their own country to "prove" their ability?
Why do they have to play in Europe before people give them any real credit?
From a Rangers fans perspective, I'm already sick of the Sky juggernaut killing competition within Europe and knowing that the slightest sniff of us unearthing a gem and they'll be away to the EPL at the drop of a hat.
A good player is a good player, and they don't need to play for a certain club or league or continent to prove it.
Brazil won 3 of their WC's before there were as many nations competing as there is today
im not denying that brazil have nutured some superstars but more of them have became superstars once they have been at a top club in europe
ronaldo was a huge prospect but became a world star when he went to barca from psv
same wi ronaldinho going from psg to barca
also i think the 2 greatest ever players are argies and i dont see what south america did to nurture messi, its been all barca
there is a difference between ability and showing your the real deal
Jesus Navas is actually quite a good player. £17m could be a bargain if he can settle. Surprised none of the big two in Spain moved for him in truth.
To be fair the English audiences used to say Zlatan Ibrahimovic was pash. That was obviously nonsense.
I've not seen nearly enough of him to justify the hype but I'm sure the hype wouldn't be there if he didn't have the talent.
