DRM has been put in place to stop piracy
----------------------------
I can almost guarantee they will drop some of these policies in the wake of the fans reactions, thus proving they did it for the money.
PS4 has left the pre owned games policy to the games developers, they can choose to opt in or out of it.
Yes it's a form of DRM, but it's less restrictive of the one the X1 is implementing.

---------------------
wrong. xbox has come out and said they themselves will not, butt have given the choice to 3rd party developers.
I still don't get how xbox are saying you can only lend a game to one friend, so how can you sell a game to a stranger????
both have come out and said the same thing, xbox faced it head on and used language which confused people which was silly, playstation saw this were quiet and sneaky and just slid in stuff.
that rule will only count for games with where you would have to pay if pre-owned, at least they give some options for others to be able to play the game, more than sony have offered.
So you are saying the used games policies are basically the same? Well we'll just have to wait and see what Sony says, all they have said so far is 'we won't impose any restrictions on PS4 used games'.
But what is your response about the principle of it all, you seem to have dodged that
At the end of the day, after MS revealed their DRM policies before E3, many were expecting the worst from the Sony front because they hadn't said anything, and were being very quiet about it leading upto E3, yet they have taken a very different stance to MS.
So while Sony are again being quiet about things, it doesn't mean they are going to follow MS's suit, as proven at E3
So you are saying the used games policies are basically the same? Well we'll just have to wait and see what Sony says, all they have said so far is 'we won't impose any restrictions on PS4 used games'.
--------------------------
I'll try and find the article I found the other day in which xbox gave the same answer.
what about principles? both are doing the same we have no choice! unless you wish to change to PC or the Wii
what about principles? both are doing the same we have no choice!
---------
course we do, we tell them to go fack themselves
But they are not the same
so you wont be buying either console?
''Fans of frugal gaming will also be cheered to learn the PS4 will let you play second-hand games with no restriction at all -- Microsoft will let games publishers decide if you can do that or not, and it'll let them charge you for the privilege. Nor is there a requirement to connect to the Internet every 24 hours like Microsoft's machine.''
http://crave.cnet.co.uk/gamesgear/ps4-destroys-xbox-one-its-349-and-it-plays-used-games-50011466/
but they are the exactly the same!!!
Microsoft came out and said they will not charge for thier own games, but will allow 3rd parties too
sony came out and said they will not charge for thier own games but may allow 3rd parties too
I know you really dont like microsoft so this is pointless as you wont listen but still, looking at some of your other articles yu dont understand xbox or xbox live at all
wow i'm shocked I think you decided that before the reveals though to be fair
"Sony's first-party games will not implement DRM measures such as online authentication or one-time use codes. But if a third-party wants to implement those measures on PS4, they have the ability to do so."
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/194126/On_PS4_DRM_measures_are_up_to_the_thirdparties.php
"Several development sources have told us that they expect game publishers to implement similar DRM policies across Xbox One and PS4, despite what has unfolded at E3 this week.
Our contacts described Sony’s conference announcements as a PR play, and revealed that its decision to go DRM-free was made at the very last minute.
Each platform holder’s DRM policy has changed continually over the last few months, they said, though Microsoft’s initial stance was much tougher than its position today. This suggests that the platform holder’s decision to let publishers decide for themselves whether to implement DRM on Xbox One was not part of the original plan.
Ultimately, the developers we spoke to understand the need to protect the revenues made on their work, and expect to see broadly similar DRM restrictions across both PS4 and Xbox One – in one instance, it was suggested that these measures were essential for the console business to survive.
We were also told that final publishing agreements will not be drawn up for at least another month, so the terms of engagement could yet change once more before each console launches at the end of the year."

so you wont be buying either console?
-----------
If I can't trade in then no, I aint paying the rip off price that is £40(wouldnt be surprised if new ones are £50)
Finishing a game in 5hours, or realising it's shiiite, then being stuck with it.
Anyway, PS4 have stated in a conference they'll be no restrictions on their games
Microsoft came out and said they will not charge for thier own games, but will allow 3rd parties too
-----------------
FFS
But they stated you can only lend a game to 1 friend, so how can you buy/sell a game from a stranger?
28 day return policy
and no they didn't
I answered you that on here a bit ago when you said it
Yes I was buying a PS4 a year ago, but you were also buying an X1 a year ago judging by your comments also.
My point is this, both consoles are virtually the same, they do the same thing give or take.
The only difference is one is 'trying' to listen to the customers and the other doesn't seem to be. I'm arguing for the guy whose 'trying' to listen to us.
I don't know what you're arguing for though, that they are both the same? Yeah they look the same, and the specs are similar, and the games will be the same, but that is kind of where it ends
not at all, I will buy whatever ones all my friends buy.
I am not arguing about anything I am simply pointing out to you that Sony are not the gamer friendly company that you seem to believe and correcting you on points which you seem to not understand properly

So they are just as 'unfriendly' as MS are they?
http://www.denofgeek.com/games/xbox-one/25959/7-genuine-reasons-your-game-might-not-work-on-an-xbox-one
I think about 2 or 3 of these would apply to a PS4, you are telling me little things like this makes Sony no better than MS? Really?
I give up with this, you are a fanboy, I am a fanboy, and you refuse to see it, little things pal, because in time these little things stack up. MS could charge 400 pounds more for a console that is exactly the same as another console in specs and you'll 'argue' (yes 'argue', that is what you do on forums as we are doing now) for it.
The only thing the X1 has over PS4 so far is Dead Rising 3, that is it.
I stream sports for free on the PC, I watch whatever series I want for free on PC, why would I want to pay for that on either consoles? So those features are a nonplus for me.
I don't want cameras in my face. I have an S3 which has voice recognition technology, I've never used it, I wouldn't on any device.
I use a console solely for playing games and occasionally watching a film.
From my point of view, and what I want in a console, the PS4 IS better because from what we know so far it is easier and simpler to play games on, it is also more customer 'friendly'.
If the PS4 turned out to be a pile of rubbish at E3 I'd get an X1, but it has not.
nah if I was 100% going to buy the xbox then id be a fan boy, but until then Im just a gamer
Just because i've proved all your points wrong no need to get wound up, have a good day fella
