You can use your P3 games on the new P4, they were going to stop this but they seen the reaction from the Xbox, and decided against it.
It is cheaper than the Xbox aswell.
"You can use your P3 games on the new P4, they were going to stop this but they seen the reaction from the Xbox, and decided against it."
Eh? Where did you hear that from?
You can stream ps3 games on the ps4 I think.
Yes you need a ps+ account costing £30-40 a year, it will also include a lot of goodies, and can be used between your ps3,ps4,and Vita.
It is also cheaper.
It does not require you to connect to the net once every 24 hour.
It's a slightly more powerful console as well.
And their game sharing..... We will have to wait and see.
But right now, unless there are some exclusive titles on the xbone you really want, I can't see what Xbone offers, and would be interested in seeing their sales when both come out. I think PS4 will wipe the floor with them, especially in developing countries where the need to connect to the net every 24 hours is going to be a massive problem for a lot of regions.
I did think that Kevin, but I think there will be. Lot more to come out yet before the consoles hit the market. Whoever is head of pr for Microsoft needs to be shot but having watched a lot of e3 yesterday, the Internet connection thing is going to be true for most games on both anyway. What will make or break it for me is the amount of dedicated servers used by both to support it.
I think MS will win in that department. Their online experience was best last time round, unless they screw it up (which they can easily do) I expect it to be the same this time round.
What did you mean about the Internet connection on most for both?
Xbox have alienated people completely.
Plenty of the games coming out are requiring connection to the cloud to function, so although the Xbox has to connect once every 24 hours or it won't work, the ps will still work, just not many of the games on it will if that makes sense.
I get it, but those games that needs to connect to the cloud, is that something that is required for the game to work? Can you tell me one of the games you saw that talked about this cloud stuff so I can look into it please.
Destiny was the one I watched the whole of, but it mentioned it in a few others as well. It makes sense though, just because of how much additional power it can then add.
I see that Destiny does require an always on internet connection, to provide a seamless experience between multi-player, co-op and single mode. Destiny seems primarily like an online multi-player game like how Warhawk and MAG were, so taking this route makes sense.
It will be interesting to know how many other games come out like this that are not primarily online multiplayer games. I.e Fifa, PES, GTA, GT, AC, Batman, Uncharted, Tekken, Street Fighter.....etc. I'm sure those games will be available to play without an internet connection. That's where the advantage lies with the PS4 over the Xbone.

People will spin it anyway they want. Last(this) gen Xbox was all about games and Sony was more about becoming the family media center. People made the argument that "Sony has a bluray player and can do so much more including play games with more power." Yet I would say Xbox 360 was a bigger success this time around. They grew substantially more than Playstation.
However I am not even considering Xbox one at the moment. They're really ignoring the consumer.
Do ps3 games work on the ps4?
No physical PS3 games will NOT work on PS4, however using Gaikai you will be able to stream them.
Is there now a charge on online gaming ?
Yes you will need to be a Playstation + member.
What is ps+ ?
PS+ (or Playstation +) is Sonys online service and for £40 (and occasionally there are special offers - i got mine for £30) a year you get free games as long as you stay subbed for PS3, Vita and in the future PS4, online exclusives and early access to certain things, as well as discounts to game store purchases.
What are the flagship games in the pipeline for the ps4
Well list of exclusives:
Driveclub
Knack
The Order:1886
Killzone
Infamous:Second Son
Deep Down
To the OP:
As far as I'm concerned no you cannot, not for free unless you pay a fee. You can go into the PS4 store and purchase a PS3, or PS2 or PS1 game from there (I would see it this way until Sony make further announcements)
You need to pay a subscription to be able to play multiplayer online.
However you don't need to pay a subscription or anything for other online peripherals such as watching Youtube, Netflix etc. only to be able to play with others online
PS+ is what you need to be paying for to play online with others, it is the equivalent of Xbox Live, the subscription of what Xbox 360 users must pay for to play online.
It will cost around 30-40 pounds a year, but with the PS3 it has always given subscribers regular free games, monthly much of the time
**UPDATE**
Is there now a charge on online gaming ?
MMOs/F2P will be up to the publisher. DC Universe and Planetside 2 have been confirmed as NOT needing PS+ to work
