It the was a massive edge from trott sniko would have shown it. Only noise came after the ball hit the pad.

Snicko is more useful than hotspot.

I came in late on the Smith catch, but he was not out. Jimmy thought it was out straight away, did not bother appealing...but the commentators were glad that the right decision was made. Snicko confirmed that there was no edge too.

Palmer.

Trott was out though in the 1st test. No hotspot. No sniko noise. It did look like the ball moved abit but that could have been the angle after the ball hit the pad.

but what could it have hit other than the bat, as it was an inside edge? If it was an outside edge than fair enough but it wasn't.

You could see with your own eyes it hit the bat.

Smith and Warner remain the key wickets though, if they both post decent enough totals the Aussies will be well set for 350+

England realistically need to be taking 3/4 wickets in the next session to pick up momentum and square the day up

If it was such a massive edge snicko would have shown it. Personally i think it was just camera tricks when zoomed in so much.

This partnership and what Warner does is key for me. The guys need to set something up for Warner with a big partnership and if he gets going then England will have a game on their hands.

"but I don't think the aussies have been as badly done as some suggest. First test Trott got a howler "

Hardly a howler as many of the Sky team seemed to think he hadn't hit it, with no hotspot we will never know, should have been given not out IMHO.

"and Agar was stumped on 6."

I believe this was the correct call, for the reasons I have given in this test.

"Then Eng got the broad decision."

A howler for sure,no review so nothing doing.

"second test I think England got a dodgy one when Agar was out, thoough it had absolutely no bearing on the result."

And you've already forgotten the shocking Rogers LBW and the catch that never was for Smith. 2 Obvious howlers.

"3rd test khawaja's was a poor decision"

Right, so we've had some marginals, Agar, Watson and Rogers LBW in first test versus Anderson and Root (the England batsmen were given not out with more of the wickets being hit by the ball). Haddin although the decision was correct was unlucky I think as Smith has just been given not out when he might well have hit it.

In terms of true howlers, Aus are well ahead, Khawaja, Rogers LBW and a cleanly taken catch not given are surely worse than the LBWs that have gone against both teams.

However, these decisions haven't made a huge difference to the tests so far, perhaps the first test may have been different but England might well have one regardless.

Clarke is more than capable of getting a Daddy ton. This game has gone if he does.

Bring on the rain
Bring on the extra absorbent liners

Trott decision may well have been an optical illusion as the ball squashed the pad as the camera does not produce enough fps to see the deviation clearly. Fact is it was not a clear cut howler, Unlike the Broad and Khawaja decisions.

anything under 350 and England be happy.

We need two quick wickets to get back in this game really otherwise this pair will take the game away from us

Back to the cricket, Australia win the toss and finally get to bat first on a good pitch and the forecast says it will rain the next 4 days, this is really not Australia's tour.

Aussies complaining about DRS decisions is like Aston Villa complaining about a last minute penalty when 4-0 down against Man Utd..... Its all irrelevant at the end of the day

The forecast isn't for rain, its for sunny spells with scattered showers. Won't stop play for long.

What if that goal is the difference between us going down and staying up?
