KP and Bairstow, if they get going, it'll look good.

Ashton Agar to make his debut! Bold move by Australia. Young lad, who can make a name for himself.

Getting excited now, the ashes is without doubt my favourite sporting event, got the rest of the week off work so should not miss a thing.

Its not often I have felt that we are clear favourites to win the urn but I think our decent batting and very good bowling should be to much for the Aussies. As others have said we are bound to have a bad display at some point just hope that it does not come today.

Come on England.

I would have picked Bresnan instead of Finn. But all is good.

Excellent start winning the toss, first blood

Cook had no hesitation to bat first, straight in there! will be a good wicket for the first two days,

I still think Bairstow is a weak link.

Australia will be dangerous first up. I have a bad feeling about this. Sorry to say.

Ed Cowan at 3 shows a more defensive rather than positive intent from Australia.

Kash

He's not had much batting recently,

Has to be aggressive when he comes in, show intent

Agree with you Thudd. Bairstow needs time in the middle in order to show his best form. Patience required.

He's only had some limited overs action if I remember rightly?
